Somebody is so sabotaging Jennie because her melon ranking just makes no sense!

It seems her solo music appeals more to the international market than the Korean market. It could explain why her ranking isn't as high as expected. Plus, many checked out Mantra due to it being her first song. I don't think it matters much because she's making music she wants to make and her music will most likely get a lot of spins. She's most likely more focused on global appeal rather than focusing on Korea

This is a fact, btw! I mean, what StanGIDLE said! BP members making music for the Western market since day 1, even as a group! Her other songs were hits, because she only released 2 songs till 2024! She released more songs in the past couple of months than in her entire career.

Zico is MASSIVE, even bigger than Jennie in SK, so SPOT being a hit, is not only her success. I don't get why people can't understand that, just because you're popular, doesn't mean people will love everything you put out! Especially if it's different, or even worse, you're releasing the same thing over and over again.

BTW, this is not her debut album, that was SOLO!

PS: How many times do I have to tell you all that Idol soloists have no long future on Korean Charts? 99% of them are flopping after 5-6 years. Even if they're popular like Jennie. Kpop is not about soloists, it's about groups.

Tbh expecting them to top charts like they did while in YGE is a little difficult. Liking it or not having a big company backing up your career will always be easier and they knew how to promote her there.

You and Me did amazing bc she promoted a little in SK, the same with Mantra and also being her first solo song outside yge. Now she is clearly focusing more in international markets, but who knows, maybe she'll get another hit there when she drops her album.

She still has good numbers despite everything and she is happier than ever to finally have freedom to do what she wants. I don't think this is 100% sabotage issue, I do think Mantra being considered a feminist song and suddenly getting so much hate there was weird, but I don't think much about her ranking now.

I think firstly it was released on Friday and traditionally my understanding is that Friday is a good day for western charts and data whereas Mondays is good for Kcharts

Secondly different strokes for different folks - not every song will capture every Korean GP

Just because a particular artist is not topping the charts does not mean the charts are being manipulated.

All I'm gonna say is that a song doesn't have to enter any chart to have an impact on people! Charts are for short-term! The most Legendary songs are still impactful after decades, but can you see any of those charting? No! That's my point!

Exactly! I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure BTS members are also not charting that well, even in SK. Not with all of their solo songs. It's only JK, probably, who can do it.
