Things are not good between Taeyeon and SM

Not another story about mistreatment.

I thought SM and Taeyeon were all good.

But, I guess you never know behind the scenes.

She is always complaining... Tbh, girl, get out of sme... She has a huge fb for a soloist, great career, fans support, you don't need sme anymore!

Any company would k* to have someone like her, if sme isn't doing her justice then go to a company that will, at least, try!

I did not know that. I thought she was being treated well since she was part of an iconic girl group.

Not a surprise, the promotion for this comeback is really low. SM are really lazy and is really ungrateful to her

it's because sm has no respect towards their female artists. not even towards king taeyeon. which is quite dreadful honestly.

they never promote her properly except maybe right before she has to resign another contract. and we can see it this comback. she has literally almost zero promotion. which makes me quite mad honestly because her EP is just so sooo good. her tt is the best one since INVU and zero promotion, nada.

moreover, i don't know if you got it but it's been the second year i think (correct me if im wrong) that sm has been giving her top 10 melon bongsangs to their bgs. in 2022 with nct and this year with riize! i mean the DISRESPECT !

(that's also probably why she doesn't go to these awards shows...)

this bgs better earn their f*cking awards, not steal it from their sumbaenims! stealing awards away from deserving artists is NOT a way to promote ANYONE!

this sausage worship that goes on in sm always felt so utterly repulsive to me and i hope Taeyeon leaves that damn place ASAP! once for good!!

I think things are serious now. Taeyeon ha been critical in the past and did vent a lot but she kept with SM likely because she had strong standing with the higher ups so she could talk and sort things out but ever since the management change she probably doesn’t have the same level of trust anymore. Now when shit happens like her almost non existent promo for her CB she’s got no one that will listen or sort out issues. I think she would probably leave ASAP if things were easy but SM will likey hold her music catalogue so she won’t have much to perform if she moved which complicates things.

Now the question is what about the other 3. Hyoyeon also gets super basic treatment on the music side, her American tour was badly organised and her music promo is basically carried by her doing little skits instead of SM doing more promo like shows and stuff. She should also be thinking about leaving but Hyo is way too damn loyal to SM to leave. Yoona and Yuri could easily leave and join acting/entertainment agencies but I think unless goes seriously wrong for them they don’t really have big reason to leave.

I agree with you that die to management change her position in sm also changed, my guess is that she stayed for so long in sm was because she has already been with them for so long, had whole vault of songs and best producers in one place, sm is well oiled machine (especially compared to start up and small agencies) and agency doesn't depend on her so she can work and take breaks as she wants. This time tho... she seems serious.

Yeah it's true that those who leave peacefully get a bit more leeway but I think Taeyeon renewed not that long ago or is at least still in current contract for a while longer and with the fuss shes making it she decides to leave ASAP things might get a bit messy. She might be in the dungeon if the heads feel she's stepping too far, I mean she's practically refusing to attend SM town that's not a good look for SM.

If she does leave on bad terms then I fully think it wouldn't be out of character for SM to make it difficult for Taeyeon access to her catalogue. She has her own huge collection of music which rivals a full groups output and she also has SNSD, that gives her one of the biggest catalogues in all of Kpop, you can bet SM will try to milk her if she tries to use her music.

You would think that such a big company will take care of their artists, especially as popular as Taeyeon. But we could already see the way they treated SNSD for their 10th anniversary, so I guess it's same old... Also the way her latest comeback is being promoted and how it was supposed to be a full album but got delayed and shortened to the mini.

I do understand though why she would want to stay there, despite being so dissatisfied. SM probably owns the right to her whole discography and by now she might have more freedom and power when it comes to music choice and performing (like she doesn't have to attend the shows etc.), maybe also good salary division. If she ever decided to join another label, it might be easy since she's so popular but imagine not being able to perform her old music?

I'm not siding with anyone here. SM is a crap company, but Taeyeon is also a diva who complains nonstop. Knowing her, she'll pull a Soyeon and continue renewing with them anyway.

I just find it funny to see people complaining about the promotion for her albums when she refuses to do any promotion herself. It's not mistreatment if she won't put in the work on her end. Her songs manage to chart anyway, so what differences does it make? They should focus on other artists who are willing to take a more active role in improving their results. Lord knows SM can't multitask to save their lives.

This is like a toxic relationship where one side does nothing for you until you complain non stop and then for a short time they treat you better.. then this happens again and again so while I understand she is loyal to them, receives good money, etc, I don't think it's worth to stay there anymore.

Hell, I never thought GD would get out of yge and here we are.. she isn't as profitable as him, but she is as iconic as him and has her super loyal fb who is willing to spend way more on her career if given things. It's clear she loves her job, she wants to keep being a singer, an idol etc so either she gets out or she shuts up (gently....) bc complaining almost every cb will just harm her image more than sme, who everybody knows is shit at their job.
