Why did Minji leave SM?

Good question, I don't know Minji personally so I don't have an answer but I'm curious too. Tbh I didn't even know she was an SM trainee.

I don’t think that’s correct? She was never an SM trainee, she auditioned and SM offered her a centre position if she went with them but she decided to go with Source/ HYBE! Which I believe was the right decision! Same happened with Jisoo from Blackpink who stayed in YG, Sullyoon from Nmixx who went with JYP and Dahyun from Twice who choose JYP

I think it’s good they all made the decision as debut is never guaranteed even if they say it is. Like SM rookie girls like Lami, Koeun and Hina didn’t make it and recently Na Haeun who was rumoured to be promised a guaranteed spot if she went with SM didn’t even make the lineup

Imagine if she had chosen SM and debuted as the maknae of Aespa in 2020. Two of the funniest most charming idols in the business in one group with Karina and Minji.

It is probably the same reason as to why Yuqi decided to go to Cube instead of SM. SM is known to have a lot of trainees and like Yuqi, Minji was probably given some form of promise that she'll debut soon.

She was never a SM trainee and there is no information about her auditioning at SM, other than the rumour spread on Korean blind. Very pointless to discuss on this.
