i say baemon because of their positive debut. fans really liked their debut and enjoyed the vocals as well. plus baemon was already well loved before their debut and already had so much hype as being the next big group after bp.

They've already started to grow a decent fanbase, now all they need is the right song.

I think ILLIT is in a harder spot considering they have less of a fanbase to land on. Magnetic is ofc big, but GGs especially can fall off very easily with the wrong move when they don't have a loyal audience yet.

illit, at least with them there is some excitement about how their future music will sound

It would be an easy Illit without the Manager Min sabotage. But even now, it's still Illit. Ppl sleep on Illit, but Lucky Girl is just as good as Magnetic and sounds nothing like New jeans.

Also, why are people acting like BM has a bigger fandom when Illits album outsold on the first week?

I'm here for the new underdog narrative Illit has and hopefully it will take them to new heights. And justice for Moka. She's cute as hell.

Before either debuted, EVERYBODY was hyping up BM and literally NOBODY was talking about ILLIT. I even made a thread here asking if anyone even knew they were planning to debut shortly, since there was literally zero discussion about them.

Then after they both debuted, BM was getting roasted alive by ifans and Korean fans alike, with people calling them flops, while ILLIT was getting compared to NewJeans, not only aesthetically, but because of how big Magnetic was.

Now we're in a period where BM seems to have a much more positive path ahead and public interest, while people are unsure of ILLIT's trajectory, even though they easily had the bigger song.

Fascinating stuff.

Yeah, kpop landscape can really change fast. It's intersting to watch how these things evolve even in just a short period of time.

I am curious as to how ILLIT especially will move forward, they really could go either way (flop/"flop" and out of "top groups" discussions, or they have another big hit), seems impossible to predict.

Fandom wise I think baemon will be bigger in the long run. Now about having hits I think Hybe will make sure to give them to illit in a mysterious way

Overall they'll have a future.. that's all I know.

i think babymonster. magnetic was good but illit as a group just has a weird feel to it. i can sense that the girls don't get along well and whenever i see them they all have this scary over-produced look

to me these 2 groups are flop b tier groups and the boring temu versions of njs and bp .

with a good handling they could do fine in japan and southest asia tho. but that’s it.

I can see them becoming even more of serious rivals to NJs than Ive during their peak because i can see them do pretty well in the west as well.

Of course NJs must leave hybe so that they can promote in peace. Which I can see happening btw. I feel like their 1st full album release is gonna happen under another label.

Also SMGG seems more likely to do better than Illit or BM too. Only IF sm keeps on going on a successful roll like with aespa's music tho.

From these two? Obviously Babymonster. They're 10 times more talented. The problem is the shithole we call YG. If they keep giving them crap songs like BATTER UP and SHEESH they will flop harder than my bank account.

ILLIT has zero chance.

Also, don't forget, 5th gen just started. Kiss of Life can eat these two alive, eventually, especially if YG won't pull their heads out of their ass. SO FAR, the only real competitor for KIOF is BM.

But let's be real, the REAL top tier groups are Young Posse, KIOF, QWER and if WiTCHX finally debuts, they will eat them all alive combined. I think, many Kpop fan are not prepared for them.

A lot of people say KIOF is the next Mamamoo, and yes, there are similarities with their live performances, but the group that actually talented as Mamamoo is WiTCHX. And who knows how many groups will debut, like the new SME group for example.

Probably that's the reason YG daddy pushing with those crazy YT views.😅

Indeed i can also see kiss of life doing better than these groups. KOL can become the 5th gens idle or sistar with the right songs.

To me the future is gonna be NJs/Meovv/KOL.

And maybe smgg doing well depending of their music and concept.

I voted ILLIT as hybe is buying all their achievements no doubt but Baby Monster are much more deserving
