Twice have been known as the NGG after SNSD.

However, I don't see the point and importance of this title.

It is only bragged by their fan in unfavor situation.

No one care who is NGG nor NGG is anything important.

Big Bang got the title of 'Nation's Boy Group' (and EXO got the title of 'Nation's Pick').

There's a whole bunch of those titles that have been given to K-pop groups and artists (and even other South Korean celebs) over the years.

Wonder Girls, SNSD and TWICE all were given the title 'Nation's girl group' by Korean media.

SNSD even got a whole list of other titles that were only given to them afaik, like 'Asia's no 1 girl group', 'The Queens of K-pop', 'The Queens of Girlgroups', 'Most Beloved of all Korean Girl Groups', 'World's Greatest Girl Group' and so on.

All those titles are nice and they're sort of a snapshot of the times when those titles are given.

But they're just titles that are given, not meant to think too much of it all (which is the opposite what K-pop fans are always making of things )

Red Velvet were given the title once, true. But it was just one of the titles that were given to Red Velvet.

And like you already said so yourself, it doesn't really matter.

Just like 'It girl', PAKs, etc, it's just something K-pop fans like to bicker and fight over whenever they're bored

K-media likes to give labels/titles to groups especially whenever they are winning awards etc...

That is where it comes from.

Twice can continue to be the NGG as long as they want to. The term has no bearing.

Same with those SNSD fans who still arguing with once over title for NGG belongs to SNSD
