Yes GIDLE is in the same era (22) 42%

No they feel more like late 3rd gen group than a fully 4th gen group (30) 58%
I don’t tbh.
I also feel they are distinctly different vibe wise from these groups as well.

In my opinion they're 3.5
Yes.
This is exactly how I feel too!
I have no idea why but people wanted to rush the change of gen in 2018, and now they're doing it again. It makes more sense that Iz*one or G-idle belong to a late 3rd gen (even tho G-Idle in specific peaked late so early 4th gen would fit too), and without any doubt gropus like BM, Riize, I'll-It, TWS... Should be in the same gen as NJ or LSFM and not in the 5th that people want to.
They have lived 3 generations atp.
If people consider stray kids as 4th gen then why not gidle? Both are 2018 debuted groups
they all are part of the 4th gen but they debuted in very different times, gidle debuted in summer 2018 and aespa debuted in nov 2020, that's 2 and a half years between them. when gidle debuted kpop had just started going global, in fact k/da's popstars was one of the first kpop songs to be known outside the kpop bubble. the other 4 groups debuted after a handful of groups had already made their marks on the global music industry.
there's also the fact that while gidle debuted pre-covid, aespa and ive debuted during covid and newjeans and lesserafim debuted after covid, and we all know how much covid affected the kpop industry

Tbh no it doesn’t work like that. GG and BG’s also don’t seem to change eras at the same time either. Like late 12/2013 most definitely is not the start of the 3rd gen for GG’s.
Apink gets left out of 3rd gen discussions far more than EXO. That’s how it’s always been. GG’s era change is more like 2014 onwards because that’s when the next biggest GG’s started debuting like RV or Twice.
This
definitely 3.5 gen and based on comments from Korean pann articles they think so too
They're late 3rd Gen to me

Stray kidz has been into the 3.5/4 gen discussion as well, for many people these groups are 3.5 gen including myself
Just see what groups they are mostly compared to and you have your answer
To me generations are not exactly according to debut year but more of what and who they are compared to
EXO debuted in 2012 and are compared to later groups like BTS SVT etc etc
AOA/EXID however are also 2012 debut but they are compared to groups like Sistar/miss A/Girls Day, rather than Twice/BP/RV
