Nope, they still topped the charts and sold well
Don't worry newpants will under perform on their next cb They both chart better in Korea than BlackPink

Baddie is already about to leave the MelOn Daily top 20, is charting below I Am, and is accumulating significantly less digital points each week relative to Perfect Night and Drama. Not all PAKs are created equal, and to me, that's well below their standard.

Only if youre talking internationally. They got paks with their worst release so far + top5 in all kcharts with a completely unpromoted ballad. Thats more that newjeans cool with you could do with 2 mvs, a dance practice and 2 asian celebs in their video. In fact cool with u charted in same place as off the record on melon.
On top of that 2 of these songs are best selling kpop singles in china and they sold 1,9m overall with ive mine... Issa win for me.
I do think they made mistakes though. Very risky stuff and i wanted a more girl crush sound with halloween vibe instead of baddie. I also think their current strategy was nothing like the successful ive formula, so this could have backfired really bad.

I'd say maybe it's a sign of a shift in preference for girl group music, especially in light of (G)IDLE's recent comeback, but LSF and aespa held up really well in that same timeframe.

Compared to BlackPink and NewJeans, IVE have accomplished nothing of note on Billboard or Spotify. I almost forgot Fifty Fifty since they imploded, but throw them on there too.
Why does this trigger you so much? They're not that big in the West. It's okay to admit that. Spotify numbers are mid and they have zero presence on the Billboard.
They are not in BlackPink and NewJeans' class there. It'll be okay, I promise. They won't cancel their tour just because their attempts to appeal to the west haven't landed yet.

Let me put it this way.
By the numbers, Baddie is the worst performing title track in IVE's young careers on the charts where they perform best.
Doing "well" is an underperformance to me, when IVE have set the bar so high for themselves.

The song barely lasted on top of the charts, as it was quickly overthrown and overshadow by Perfect Night, then it began falling at a much faster rate than any other IVE title track, already charting lower than I Am and just barely holding on to the top 20, and the two other tracks are charting way below Kitsch and will be out of the top 100 probably in a month or two. (while Love Dive/After Like/I Am will still be hanging around).
Am I being unfair by considering this a significant underperformance?
