That never was and never will be a big deal. She doesn't even have that many haters in comparison to other idols. The situation may have upset some Vietnamese politicians, but that's all there was to it. Honestly, I think the media was just trying to have something to talk about.
Hanni is one of the idols who's universally loved.
The only time I've seen significant hate coming her way was when toxic people accused her of copying Lisa. It's awful they really decided to pitch two Southeast Asian idols against each other like that.
I guess it's also because she's very talented. A lot of stage presence and charisma.
the thing with Hanni is that, despite she is SEA, she fits the Korean Beauty Standard to certain extent. And that she is quite fair. Hence, koreans are more acceptance towards her than Lisa
Both are similarly talented and are standout performer of their respective group. Visual is the only reason to explain why Koreans treats them differently

Dani is probably the most unexpected one for me. She is the 4th in popularity when I expected her to be top 2 given how everyone so hyped about her initially.

It’s interesting to me yes. There is no political bias that is attached to members from fellow NE Asian neighbors but at the same time wasn’t Korea active in wrongdoings in the Vietnam war? But that’s moot since she’s seen as Australian more than anything since that’s where she is from. I think it really helps she fits their beauty standard. She’s not brown/tan and her proportions are almost what they idolize (shoujo/sailor moon bodies with ridiculously tiny heads.) Hanni is the most likeable member hands down regardless. Hope she continues to receive nothing but love in SK.
