I remember last year we already busy with this topic during this time. What is going on? Whose gonna get the most this year?
It's already September why we have so little conversation about year end award possible winner?

I think Jungkook/Seven rather than a group might win a bunch of awards, especially for MAMA where international charts are valued so highly. I also feel like 17 has a shot at Album of the Year for some of these award shows . . . I mean FML is literally the best-selling Korean album ever, it has to get at least one Daesang right? I feel like it's at least a shoo-in for Golden Disk's Physical Daesang.
Also, I guess people forgot about the days before BTS dominated everything; but back in the day award shows clearly manipulated it so there would be one winner for like every big category. The first 7 years of the 2010s MAMA and MMA had at least 2 different winners split between the then three Daesangs and most years it would be 3 separate winners. So I could see a return to that this year with NewJeans/JK/Ive and occasionally 17 alternating the Daesangs between them.

It's because Kpop are focusing on international markets more than ever and these awards are mostly local.

I just take it as a sign that they did listen to the album and helped contribute to streams

They have been so dominant that NJ, BTS solos, and Jisoo will sweep everything, and either svt or skz for boy groups, and zb1 for rookie of the year. Anything else and its payola.
NCT Dream is in the same range as SVT and SKZ in terms of physical sales except that they have two releases eligible this year of which one the TT is Candy, which isn't gonna lose to Boy groups in korean digital charts with BTS on hiatus. We've basically known NCT Dream was gonna win boy groups this year since November. Let's try to not act too surprised or whine payola when it does.

Good point. Attention has shifted more towards Global charts, biggest sellers etc.
