Kpop groups aren't hitting 200 million views on YouTube anymore

Younger fans moved on to tiktok

Ads just last for a month now ( while they need it for music shows) then companies stop

Actually IVE also have Love Dive with over 200m views and g idle have Tomboy and Oh My God too

No one cares about them, since they are easily botted.

Streaming platforms & tiktok took over

Spotify and TikTok taken over.

I doubt anybody hypes or care about YT views, it's also not cool anymore.

Attention has moved to Spotify

With the trend of kpop groups making pre-releases and having multiple MVs per comeback, that isn't surprising. There simply isn't enough time for people to be repeatedly streaming so many MVs within a certain timeframe.

most of these views are paid advertisements. no hate but cube pays a lot for gidle.

and yes i know le sserafim does the same too

Youtube changed the way it counts views, Armies and Onces were complaining how BTS and TWICE lost tens of millions of views as the view counts went backwards on some days.

I think queencard is gonna reach 200m. It consistently gain over 9m views based by yt chart

I think song is important for older groups as streaming on YT dies when you get old as a fan. Look at The Feels is only slightly older than TTT and has 375 million views. Nayeon Pop is at nearly 200 million yet others like Scientist and SMF are nearly at that point. I think cos those songs are kind of ass.

Blackpink is an exception. Youtube is their platform even if they're still doing great on Spotify.

If you see the main western artists they get way more streams on spotify than YouTube views.

And this trend is also touching K-pop acts.

98% of the time i hear something about streaming numbers now, people are talking about Spotify.

I think it was more like 80% of the time Youtube only about 3 years ago.

Things shifted quickly

YouTube is still a much bigger platform, but the views, unlike Spotify streams, are split between the MV, live performance, lyrics, dance, audio, etc. While Spotify is just the song.

Companies stopped mass buying ads for months sincr Youtube views became a joke. It's the kind of marketing nobody cares nowadays

It doesn't matter anymore since almost every K Pop group these days are selling a million copies out the gate and doing world tours. At the end of the day, that is the goal.

There are musical acts out there that have BILLIONS of views but can barely go double wood and are lucky if they can get a McDonald's meal from their streaming royalties but that's a whole different conversation.... or is it?
