info from members from last weeks
first they've said that they weren't satisfied with songs that agencygave them
then they confirmed the main title song was finally picked
they have plenty of activities for example Mimi is in main cast of two variety shows
Arin was acting, Yooa had that solo comeback and then did some gigs, Yubin was MC in Dream Concert
also a reminder that WM was acquired by RBW and there is DSP too
so if for example KARD had recent comeback, and Chaeyeon as well, and also ONEUS had comeback on 8th May then would be hard for agency to get those comebacks one after another, they are already packed
also there was a thread recently that RBW stock shares are rising because they partially own company which has distribution rights for Fifty Fifty's Cupid

It's peculiar that they'd allow them to lose all their steam like that, considering they *just renewed*

OMG is in the danger zone with Red Velvet. Their next comebacks will likely determine their fates.

Why haven't redvelvet disbanded yet, did they renew their contracts?

RV is doing pretty good, but having Irene in the group is a double edged sword. They need to push global, but I guess SM would rather invest in the NCTs and aespa.
OMG is a bit like fromis, where if the company debuts a new group it will sell more. OMG do have some legit stars like Arin who has branched out into acting now.

They haven't disbanded because they're still as popular & successful as they've ever been.
And also because they work for SM Entertainment, where "the dungeon" isn't just a cute metaphor. The 'S' stands for slave.

I want a great summer bop from them again.

I think they are fine, realistically before they didn't have the popularity to try loads of solo work. After they hit it big the company could have gone 2 ways 1, capitalise to make the group more popular or 2, allow the members to capitalise to grow their own individual brands and solo careers. What path companies choose depends on how much they care for the members long term development and stability and what stage of the contract they are at.
If it was early on in the contract or they don't think it'll last so just want to make bank and run companies choose 1, since they have already renewed, are older so more likely to want to branch out and the company seems to love them the company went with 2. Good for them. If they decide they don't want to do idol life anymore it they have a better idea of what they want to do in the industry and have started to make contacts without losing the group protection.
