I think that tends to be the older people. I thought that even before I saw what OP wrote and only saw the title. BoA is an excellent example.

Same goes for Western music. Most of the time the young ones aren't that respected, but the older ones are.

Like by the broader kpop community or other idols? Anyway KAI is the idol of idols for a reason. Apart from that D.O and Baekhyun are also loved a lot not just by other idols but by staff as well.
