But tbh it sound exactly like 20 other song from nugu gg from the past 5 years
So i was curious to know why this song suddenly became popular internationally and not in korea
But all the other songs stay nugu
I thought there was a better explanation like a big celebrities promoted them, or the girls went viral like Gfriend and the song went viral thanks to it
probably the right amount of luck and timing tbqh
but the company did well releasing a great English version that removes the rap and key change at the end. Properly westernised it and made it ready to go viral

Their fans on tiktok known for promoting it 24/7. But yeah, people like the english version of this. The one that got viral is the english one, and besides the vocals, and the song, I've seen some people kinda relates with the lyric (I even seen my friend who are blind for nugu groups suddenly post this song's lyric).
Some people also said that this english version are the "true" english version because it wasn't just a translated song.
So maybe this is one of the thing that make them standout?
Also their hype are kinda snowballed because they are completely nugu but suddenly have a millions of listener in spotify. You know that some people are attracted with this narrative...
So it's a combination of good song, nice vocal, nice english lyric, tiktok, and nuguness

When I first listen to it I immediately knew it didn't resemble most of kpop songs even a bit
For many folks it's just a standard pop song
They did everything right with cupid
- Really good and relatable lyrics, not piss poor translations of Korean lyrics
- Deeper vocals, nothing too much nasal or high pitched. The song is cute, but not "kpop cutesy"
- They removed the rap, wise
- There is only two singers in the song
- The melody is simple and catchy, perfect as background song
I disagree it like most of nugus group songs. It's a shallow interpretation to think every nugu group music sounds the same.

Most songs that are successful are like this. People just listen to the song without bothering to check the rest. I have several songs on my spotify that I know nothing about who's singing. This "I must know all members" thing only happens in kpop.
There's bands I've been listening for ages and know their entire discography including demos but if you ask me to list each member name I wouldn't know.
I haven't even heard the song 
I mean I listen to many kpop groups songs without even knowing the members names or even recognize their faces, I enjoy the music and listen to it without getting into the groups
