JYPE was pushing TWICE hard into an American advancement. With Chaeyoung’s very ‘light’ apology on her alleged mistake that could be construed as anti-Semitism, it could potentially put a bad light between the relationship of Republic Records and JYPE. Not directly on Chaeyoung per se, but on JYPE not doing the most basic duty of educating Twice about COMMON hate symbols used in America, the history behind them and avoiding them. Let alone one that targets the heritage of the CEO of the company in the US they are working with. It would demonstrate to them that JYPE is still not ready to advance in America.
The CEO of Republic Records, who TWICE is signed with in America is Jewish

Changed the title of the thread from “The CEO of Public Records, who TWICE is signed with in America is Jewish” to “The CEO of Republic Records, who TWICE is signed with in America is Jewish”. -
lol the CEO doesnt care about anything except how much money and prestige Twice can bring to their label.
-
Can we just ban anyone spreading wild political rumour about idols unrelated to kpop industry itself.

A company/idol making the same social mistake two in a row ain’t bringing prestige. Unless they are bringing in BTS level profits there will be some diversity/equity/inclusion committee having some discussions about this.

Who is making rumors? Chaeyoung literally apologized for her mistake. But in the end, the buck stops at the company, who are responsible for educating idols on the essential sensitivity knowledge of a society’s culture they are trying to PROFIT from.
-
The issue is that this mistake wouldn’t have happened if the company did their due diligence, especially in a county with very significant social and historical contexts associated with that mistake. This is absolutely nothing like Tzuyu’s flag incident because Twice weren’t promoting in China.

Lol. Stop talking like you know something about this CEO, and how the business work. I saw your interactions here, you dont know shit, you are just an insignificant troll of a dying forum who think is more intelligent than the rest. Spoiler: you dont.

Replace Germany with Israel if you want. Either way it shows narrative is more important than principles to some people.
Also, I have nothing against Germany or Germans, I'm just pointing out this guy's hypocrisy.

The point is Twice didn't have to get educated on Chinese political sensitives while working in Korea and promoting in Korea. Completely different from what Twice is specifically doing in America.
-
Highly doubt she is antisemitic, she is just ignorant and edgy

You think your personal attacks against me will do anything to 'shield' what has already happened?
From a marketing perspective, this isn't a good look, to say the least.

I don't understand what Germany has to do with this?

I hope you're just putting on an act that you don't know the significance and impact of Nazi hate symbol and ideology in the past and present of America.

World War 2 only happened in one country
-

What are you getting at? The swastika is a reviled symbol for all of western civilization, not just Germany. You're just as likely to offend someone in America, which is where she wore it.

Uh, the Nazi's ruled Germany and killed German Jews. Hitler was their leader. The swastika was their symbol. Does any of this ring a bell? How old are you exactly?

They did more than that alot more than that
-
They did more than that alot more than that
Ok sure. It's a German creation either way.
-
World War 2 only happened in one country
Oh yesss, totally niche war. I guess having some empathy towards all Jewish, Slavic, Roma and disabled people, homosexuals, children, people who weren't white and blonde enough is too much to ask from people here.
-

This is a sensitive symbol pretty much everywhere in west and I'm sure WW 2 and nazism is a subject teach on Korean schools

Oh I am just person of Slavic origin <- who were also main target of Nazi Germans... and other fascists

You really don't seem equipped enough to discuss this topic, thinking this is just a German issue...
holy shit...

Do you believe it is more likely the nazism is taught than the fact China claims Taiwan? A Taiwanese doesn't know this? Tzuyu was NOT wrong, just to be clear, but how could she not know it would hurt her image in China? Probably the same reason Chaeyoung didn't realize the impact of her shirt.
-
Those two things are miles of distance my dear. Taiwan do not have a history of prosecuting and committing to ethnic cleansing with Chinese Han people.
On side note, Tzuyu being born in Taiwan is surely used to use Taiwanese flag since her birth, it's something normalized for her because it was she grown up surrounded by Taiwanese flags lol.
Until you says to me is normalized for Koreans to wear nazi symbols on daily basis there is no comparison hear.
Worse: She was in a American country in a city with many many Jewish descendent people. This is like me going to Seul and walk on a street wearing a rising sun flag as a scarf. It's 100% disrespectful, when you're a tourist it's your job to learn and respect basic custom and sensitivities of whatever place you go.
-
Just to show it's not jsut a German/American thing
If she wore that shirt in any of the cities Twice is touring in Australia, she could be up for a $15,000USD fine in Melbourne or $65,000USD in Sydney (or 12 months imprisonment, but what she did probably isn't to that level) after laws against display of the Hakenkreuz were passed last year

Ok just ignore everything to which you replied. The point is it's obvious neither of them actually knew they were doing something that people would get upset about. Tzuyu SHOULD have known that China would get pissed, rightfully or wrongfully so. Chaeyoung SHOULD have known that many others would get pissed, rightfully or wrongfully so. Neither did. Both apologized. They deserve peace.

Laws and morality are not the same

Twice will continue promoting in the U.S as usual even w/o your blessing

I live in Brazil and here wearing a swatiska ia enough to be prosecuted and the sentence can be 2 to 5 years in prison. I'm actually perplexed nothing happened to her, in Brazil she was very likely to be verbally assaulted for wearing any symbol related to nazism.

You’re conveniently missing the point, this should have never happened because JYPE SHOULD have educated Chaeyoung on these sensitivity matters as they were entering the American market. This includes general history of racism, slavery, common hate symbols, NOT SAYING THE N-WORD, and yes, Nazi related symbology which seem more innocuous in Asia.

Tzuyu doesn't have to care about Chinese nationalist sensibilities with regards to Taiwan's independence, nor should she. If they choose to get their panties in a twist over the fact that Taiwan is politically independent of China, that's their problem, not hers. She did nothing that a normal, well-adjusted person who isn't blinded by nationalism could find offensive. Chaeyoung wearing a shirt that glorifies a murderer donning an infamous hate symbol is a COMPLETELY different situation. Stop trying to compare the two, because there's absolutely no comparison to be made. Period.

She clearly does have to care since it caused a scandal. Also I already said she did nothing wrong. Go to bed.

It caused a completely unjustified scandal. Chaeyoung's scandal is justified. Which part of your tiny, shriveled brain is having trouble processing this information and seeing the obvious difference?

If you showed the Q anon shirt to most Americans they would not know what it was. I do not blame Koreans for not knowing. Even the stylists. It was an honest mistake.
The swaztika was bad but she took down the post and apologized. Kpop fans are really trying to make this bigger than it is.

Yeah because Brazil had like tons of Nazis run to it that’s why. Asia did not have much interaction with Nazi germany.
