Should Kakao Entertainment have access to SM's producers, songwriters and demos for their other groups to use?

Why not? They were never really exclusive. The only exclusive producers for SM were LSM and YYJ which both left. Didn’t know SM had their own dancers and Idk about directors.

I dont like the family thing, hope doesnt affect the old artists too much.
But this move was predictable, the Kakao mindset ofc would change after get SM, because it's not the typical midsize company.
This was their goal since day one, take a big company to be their base.

IU get that visual/concept department, we need something that doesn't look cheap/picsart next cb

IU used to be a regular guest on Taeyeon's radio show back in the day, they were once close enough that IU still refers to her as unnie rather than sunbae if she mentions Taeyeon. And they actually share the same live band for concerts. IU operates pretty independently but yea I'm curious for Kakao Ent'a plans for SM and their other subsidiaries.

Tbh based on what I understand of demos, hindsight is 20/20. Very few people would have the foresight/confidence to know how big of a smash hit songs like Hybe Boy or Love Dive would be at the demo stage (iirc Starship was going to pass on Love Dive until Wonyoung pushed for it - and the demo was first offered to Sunmi, who passed on it).

Anyway, I don't think the existing Kakao groups/acts need sm's songs. IVE and IU are making good music so no thanks.

Kakao can do what ever they want since they own SME. Of course they will be tapping on the creative juices for their other labels because why not? It’s their right. But SME can also use other labels’ creatives too so should be a win win

Tbh there’s plenty of music to go around I don’t see it as such a big deal. As for next “next level” or whatever didnt Kenzie and LDN make music for nayeon POP would you say that was say “stolen” from RV/SNSD/AESPA. It’s very hard to say why songs become hit.
