Why is Spanish twitter laughing that the younger member is called Chiquita while the oldest member is called Ruka?
Spanish speakers please help; Chiquita and Ruka
-
-
i dont speak spanish (at least fluently) but from what i've heard chiquita and ruka means small/little girl and old girl
-
its not Ruka its ruca, but it sounds the same and yeah, it means old lady
-
In spanish Chiquita means little one. But it is a nice way to call someone. I think is like they way some characters refer to young apprenticies on Star wars, Younglings
I even call my friends Chiquis
Never heard of the Word Ruka or Ruca, must be some slang from an specific spanish speaking country
-
ruca is not an Spanish word it's more like a Mexican slang but it's a derogatory word for an old woman ( I think) or girlfriend ex mi ruca

Is 'ruka' in Mexican something like 'Hag'?
I know there is a twitter account that promotes female singers over 30.
hag promoter (@hagpromoter) / Twitterfollow us for the most reliable and original news, updates and other contents about active/nugu/veteran kpop female idols older than 95-liner‼️twitter.com -
Her name is canny and they be messing up with that

Is chiquita her nickname or a YG stage name?
Her original name is canny. That’s the nickname she’s born with

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I follow Thai entertainment and I believe all Thai people have an English nickname.
I think this is different than her stage name.

Damn, so YG went with "Chiquita" for the maknae deliberately
-

Wow, thought that was a really corny and simple joke, but it seems to have missed you entirely...
Those are numbers in Spanish by the way - which have very little to do with the abbreviations groups like BTS, NCT and TXT use to simplify things.
-
Nah. Didnt miss it. Looks like you missed the joke about dumb trends in Kpop. It's cool though.
