NJ has no similarity with BP. Their management is way too different. They have many activities and their songs doesn't look anything like BP either
There isn't anything surprising with their Spotify numbers either. NJ songs are pretty much like western pop music, there are so many English lyrics that if you put them into a big playlist most of people won't even realize they are listening a kpop group
I always scratched my head when people used to say BP music sound western, because while it sound more western than... let's say Twice and GFriend it was clearly Korean to me in every sense
NJ is different, they really doesn't have a very "modern kpop face". Their outfits, hair, MVs and so on remember much more like how 1st generation and early 2nd generation would look and sound if companies actually have the money Hybe has. I always found kpop to be a bit bizarre (in a good sense, because it was bizarre but distinct and charming), but NJ is different, they are a vanilla teen artist group that every one can listen and relate to. Imagine Olivia Rodrigo, but Korean
Also, their songs are just too good. They are not "hype dance songs" like most of kpop, but something more easy to listen and repeat. Bodes very well with playlists

If I recall correctly, I think he did admit to being a fan of Blackpink in their earlier years but the fandom did ‘something’ to him that to this day has been unforgivable….apparently.
Lmfao it is true that the story always changes after repeated retelling.
The actual story was that I wanted to like BP, because I was a massive BigBang/2ne1 fan and YG stan, so I really wanted to like them, but it never actually materialised because of their direction/music/members.
So somehow story was retold so many times that it became some parallel reality version of itself.

pink venon I can understand the mixed opinions but HYLT was a bop and born pink album b sides are good
