When I move VS Birthday VS Cheshire, your fav gg release this week

for me they all leave sth to be desired
I wish all 3 of songs offered more dramatic change in tempo from versus to chorus.
Cheshire has the edge, I just don't like how high pitched Yeji parts in the chorus is.
When I move, needed abit more flavor in the chorus. Jiyoung and Nicole rap needed more energy. Their step rap was perfect and this could have been that.
Same with birthday, it needed sth else. This is one song that could have been better with more noise. It's a red title track. Throw in more drum or beats in it.

I had high expectations from Red Velvet and ITZY. Particularly ITZY since I liked Sneakers a lot (unlike some Midzy), and this was the 1st time in a ITZY song where I was kinda like meh about it from start to finish. Nothing about it grabbed me. Probably my least favorite title song of their's. As for RV, they are hit or miss for me, but when they hit it's a classic. They just miss a lot with me lol.
I checked out "When I Move", and I am tempted to say it's my favorite of the 3. But, not sure if that's cause I legit like it or because I had 0 expectations and the song isn't bad. I'm not sure. Which probably means it's meh.

Both When I Move and Cheshire are better than I expected. Cheshire might be my 2nd favorite Itzy title track. First chorus is too high pitched but that's my only real complaint. I didn't expect much at all from Kara since I'm not a fan of their older songs but When I Move is really nice. Maybe a little empty? But yeah, I like it.
Birthday was disappointing. Found it boring.

Birthday was horrible, but I really like When I move and Cheshire.
When I Move is a more subdued take on the Kara sound, it actually reminds me somewhat of a song WJSN or Eunbi I could see having, with the "pretty" dancefloor sound. The chorus though is amazing.
Cheshire is a song people I've seen saying is "boring", but the electronic crunch plus the vampy la la las is pretty cool . I'm happy Itzy finally got a stylish song again, like one you can imagine catwalking to.
Currently it's When I move>Cheshire>>>>>>>Birthday

Shoulda been a poll
Cheshire. Not just from a Midzy POV. It's just the more entertaining song that is a return to form for them
When I Move is pretty good. Don't know much about Kara but the song is fine, fun but a bit generic kpop.
Birthday... I was excited to actually get on board with an RV release instead of getting into it months later. I was SORELY disappointed. It's a childish, silly and worst of all forgettable song.

I liked Birthday album side tracks more than title track. Bye Bye and On the Ride more catchy than title track they have better chorus. I liked Mv and concept but Birthday don't lived up my expectation. I was excited when I liked the sample, but SM made the song in the most monotonous way possible.
Itzy Mv and its song sounded a bit like a Twice song to me. It's like these kinds of songs don't reflect their own identities. The Lalala part of the song is beautiful, but other than that, it doesn't seem to be very memorable. Also I didn't like the concept of Mv and the concept of mv doesn't look as very fresh. The song is a little better than Birthday, but I had high expectations as there were so many good girl group songs this year.

Yes exactly!!! I have seen multiple people say Cheshire is ITZY going back to their roots, and I'm like "Where?"
It sounds nothing like any of ITZY's old song. ITZY usually has very explosive choruses (Dalla Dalla, Wannabe, MITM, Loco) or they have some kind of unique switch up in the midst of the song (Icy, Not Shy, Sneakers), but Cheshire lacked both of those things. It definitely sounds more like a Twice sound, and I thought the same thing when I was listening to it for like the 2nd or 3rd time. They tend to have a consistent catchy melody rather than do anything too out there.
