The only Group i stan from SM is AESPAWell both groups are 5 members. Both groups concept is a experimental sound. Both groups have two famous visuals. Both groups never came close to SNSD success. And now both groups are thrown in dumpster for a newer girl group.
Meanwhile the boy groups keep on trucking.

SNSD is the most iconic and influential girl group in kpop history. Not even Blackpink and Twice are as important to kpop as they are.
SM Boy groups have ruled kpop since the beginning.

And yes Wendy has recovered. But that doesn't seem to be enough to get Red Velvet rolling again.

as much as id like to deny it... yeah, it's gonna be REALLY hard for rv to get back on their feet. if anything sm needs to focus on them for now instead of ignoring them

As I said in other threads, SM just waiting until the public sentiment got better. RV achievements is hugely carried by their digitals. Let's wait the result of RV comeback in the future. If the result bad, then they will go down f(x) route imo. If good, I think they have a future in SM like some SNSD members.
