you can be in a bubble market where everything sells well AND still have a top group, the definitions for a top group will just change. That's why context is everything. Like, The Beatles were placed in a crowded British rock market but they were top dogs anyway. Even after that bubble popped they continued to grow.

We have seen a seismic shift in Kpop. The death of Izone in March of 2020 marked the beginning of the Great Turning and the shocking hiatus of BTS marked its end. The Great Turning was a year of breathless change and included the transition to the Fourth Age.

The Fourth Age will be marked by the devolution of popularity and success from BTS and Blackpink to a dozen or more groups all fighting to be the Kings and Queens of the Fourth Age.

For the new groups, most of them are just reaching their 2-3 year status. Even when BP, RV, Twice debuted, there were no definite "top" group. So Maybe it will take time for them as well?
