Why are boy groups always doing better with albums than girl groups?

Only in 2022 girl groups caught up their physical sales and we have 4 ggs to be million sellers, also 1 or 2 more are on the way. but still hard for ggs to do better in USA, the list can be continued with more twice, bp, some aespa and itzy, but still bts, nct, stray kids, superm, txt etc are more dominating than ggs. Why is that so?

Maybe, it has something to do with US label or US distribution deal?

I only know bp and bts can sell well WAY before without the need of us label or us distribution deal.

There are more hardcore fangirls than fanboys, and fangirls tend to stan boy groups.

Like even my nugu BGs can sell more than GGs who might be more well-known

Boy groups have always had more hardcore fans while girl groups have more casual listeners. The difference is smaller internationally than in Korea but it still exists.

On alkp for example the average user is way more familiar with girl groups. If you don’t know all the members in Itzy you’re weird. Not knowing all the members in Stray Kids is pretty common. Yet if you only count ults there might actually be more boy group stans.

Boy groups generally have more dedicated fandoms, though there are exceptions like Blackpink and Twice.

I wonder if the trend gap is decreasing

ie. someone post the numbers for say the last 5 years and see if the GG sales (of say the top 10 groups) compared to the sales of top 10 BG

GG rarely have people listening to their b sides or buying their albums in comparison to BGs of a similar comparable tier.

This has not changed IMO.

BP doing so well with their b sides is already an anomaly for GGs imo.
