Why do most 4th gen groups lose hype in a year?
In a year, Aespa goes from being mentioned as a revolution with lore music to now being called flops compared to newer groups. People thought Itzy would compete with Blackpink when Dalla dalla smashed but when Not Shy came a year later their hype already died down. StayC wowed people with Asap but they’re not even discussed now. Even Nmixx’s O.O, though controversial, got talked about a lot while people forgot Dice in a day. The K-pop industry has always been saturated, but nowadays with the advent of different forms of social media, fans' attention spans become shorter and shorter. They move onto newer things very quickly.
Just wait until virtual reality and augmented reality become staples of our everyday lives. It'll be cut down to half a year.
