What is the glory of staying around when the rivals have moved on to other things.. and in the heyday of competition, the participation of BP was 'occasional'

3rd gen's history has already been settled.

• BTS is the winner among BGs and Groups, in every way - Digitals/Physicals, Korea/Non-Korea, runner up are EXO
• Twice is the winner in Korea for GGs- 9 back to back #1 settled that. Irrespective of them not hitting #1 since.
• BP is the winner outside Korea for GGs, notwithstanding the thinnest discography ever of a top group.

Unless BP achieves a string of #1s in S.Korea in the next years, the above is not going to change.

With 4th gen already blocking BP on that aspect, that is not going to happen.

So be happy with their immense success internationally and let things be. Don't be greedy and think 'decline' cannot happen to BP. It will.

I am curious does no.1's really that important because if you take no.1 song in korea both bp and twice have same no of hits even with less songs among all 3rd gen girl groups both bp and twice have same digital index and bp is only girl group can chart b sides too. so, i still don't understood that bp success and impact in korea has nothing less than twice or any other girl groups

It is all relative.. there are many ways to assess an act. ,#1s is one of them.

It is because there are many ways, there is so much debate in the fan communities.

Take Davichi for example, digitally they probably are one of the most consistently consumed act on more than 10 years- very steady in longevity. Yet they don't have #1s on the chart, but IU does .. hence the immense popularity.

If Twice had an occasional #1, it might haven't mattered much. But to do so back to back for 9 songs, that cemented them as the top GG of their generation.

But as you mention, use a different parameter like B-sides, you could have BP topping.

The 'lesser songs' thing can be read both ways.

Every release is a test, to hold public attention each time is a challenge that the artist takes, to do so often might also risk fatigue.

So for BTS/Twice to hold their audience despite being so prolific is one sort of achievement.

But then not releasing often also risks losing the public who could forget and move on. BP took that path and still made a huge impact.

So it is all relative.

Personally, I like to project how history would assesses them, outside of immediate chart statistics.

For artists, the body of work showing their span and depth is important. In that aspect the scarcity strategy leaves little space for BP to exhibit variety in their abilities.
