One positive though is that this should lessen Army Blink wars. Unless i'm gonna be heavily provoked, i don't think i'll have the heart to truly engage in Army/Blink fanwars anymore. Part of it is knowing what Army is going through after what happened last year. Part of it is realizing that the Third Age is passing into history, that the Fourth Age of Kpop has finally come to pass.

Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic is what i think of when i see Army/Blink fanwars on Twitter.

Blackpink's sucess doesn't make me like BTS less. Also people can enjoy songs from different groups (that's my case) without making this look like soccer clubs.

But indeed I feel a void with the hiatus for sure. Mostly because no matter what groups say that "they'll come back" (such as they said), I truly doubt it'll be the same again in the future. They'll be like Suju, or Shinee, etc with an album once in a while and they might not even do stadium tours in the west in a few years. So I do feel their influence will go down slowly from this point onwards. This is not about "haha my faves are better than yours, they're at the top!" but mostly because if they're not at the top, it'll be harder to hear about them, get the media talk about them, less tours etc. Basically, less buzz in the west.

EDIT: I want to see them at Jimmy Fallon again. I want to hear the news in my country talking about "this south korean group sold out a stadium in the US"; people recreating their choreos; merch at my local FNAC shop (I'm in Europe). And all that buzz whenever they have a comeback.

The LY years were glorious. I doubt we'll have that again, unfortunately.
