What was your K-pop honeymoon phase like?

2015, still most iconic kpop year, last rise of the 2nd gen and good music of the emerging 3rd gen

it was great. Because i came from kdramas i was fan of many osts. And thats how i came to know spica my firsy kpop group and for a long time i used to listen to spica even they were already disbanded. And then 2nd gen girl groups like snsd; miss a; sistar. It was best time because i didnt knew any kpop forums or kpop gossip or competition. I was just enjoying songs from different groups

It was great, every group was new to me. I was discovering music left and right and I spent hours and hours every single day watching things like vlives, variety shows, etc.

Now I'm just lazy. I heard like most kpop songs already and I just slowly wait on new songs to come out impatiently...
I'm at least a year behind on my faves content, sometimes I dont even bother opening social media notification now.

I started listening to kpop in 2009.

I discovered SNSD then I started to casually listen to other groups.

I remember waiting for snsd's music video to be broadcast in TV. Fun times.

My kpo honeymoon phase was a little weird. I discovered kpop in 2011 through SNSD and got so obsessed with them, I didn't give other groups a chance until a couple of years later and even then I was just a casual listener.

Now I'm a multistan and happy with that

I guess I'm still sorta in that phase I mean technically a kpop rookie is 2 years right and it's now almost 3 years for me...

My honeymoon phase was on late 2nd gen, so it was perfect.

Nope, I started with BLACKPINK, but BTS was my second group, so close enough.

I think my Kpop honeymoon period is now.

I think I have a much more balanced view of how I enjoy music now than I did as a teenage noob trying to create multiple accounts to vote for EXO in some award ceremony and worrying about if I stayed up all night just to see something probably not that important but OMG EXO drop.

I very much came into Kpop for EXO. Most 2nd Gen Kpop didn’t interest me so didn’t bother nor did many other third gen groups. I certainly explored kr&b and khiphop but barely scratched the surface on a lot of Kpop.

After a break where I still listened to the music and followed new release from my faves, the pandemic brought me back with a different perspective.

As a twentysomething I have a better understanding of my tastes and preferences to know what to look for and I ask for recs and dig into bsides - even of groups I might have previously passed up. I also think my college years definitely exposed to more music and opened up my musical perspective.
