More groups, more subunits, more soloists. The math checks out. More stans.
ESPECIALLY when they've got an ecosystem that links their artists together through super groups, collabs, and special projects. It's Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Apple all at once.
They do a great job with interlinking previous generations with the newer generations.
Examples: Having aespa cover a popular S.E.S. song, having multiple generations of idols in one super group
There's a bit of something for everyone, also known as "different strokes for different folks."
Another thing... When I first started liking K-pop, YG drew me in, but I always recognized SM's overall brand image was the epitome of what you think of in regards to K-pop idols. The appa throwing up finger hearts all day and the unnie who looks like she does CFs for skincare products, vitamin C drinks, and herbal supplements. No other company had such an image of perfection when it came to its idols. That defined K-pop.
It just makes sense. I'm not sure why anyone would be mad or surprised about this. The concept of a company stan seems to be very triggering for whatever reason. In reality, it just is what it is.
