I cant believe kpop fans think 4 minute is too long for songs now

if it's an amazing song, i can listen for 10 minutes straight and be enthralled the entire time

if it's a bad song and it's longer than 3 mins that 3 mins feels like an hour

Same, songs under 3 minutes are not enough for me, for example, I don't like it being short, especially if the song is very good. The most ideal songs are between 3-4 minutes.

It’s funny how just a month or two ago people were complaining how the streaming era has made songs shorter. That’s Kpop - hate it one day, love it the next.

it's not about song length, it's about the song. suga's daechwita is 4:15 and jin's yours 4:25 and i never thought they were long. it's the opposite, when i realized they were over 4 minutes i was surprised, it didn't feel that way.

on another hand, there's o.o. it's under 3 minutes and i thought it was over 5 lol. even a second of that song feels like eternity lol

I guess the song feels long when you don't like it and it feels like its neverending and you want it to end

Depends on the song, but kpop songs lend beats and melodies from western pop and mix and mash it, there is nothing really original and innovative going on, being short is better. It lives u wanting more.

There's no way for 4 minutes to be too long, unless one specific part drags for no reason.

The tendency lately was to have short songs (under 3 minutes), which is not an issue in and of itself. The issue though is when songs are short but the producers tried to cram many ideas into it. It then feels rushed/underdeveloped. Like, why didn't they just add a minute more so that every part has enough to breathe and exist?

Sometimes they're so short (under 2 min) you don't even know if they're just supposed to be an intro or what (Kep1er's See The Light).

Now, what about 14 minute long songs?
