Props to the people in charge for actually trying something new and eccentric instead of going the safe route. They're pushing boundaries instead of simply imitating whatever's popular with demographics across the world.

I'm sure we can't stand certain songs either. We just don't make a big deal out of it by claiming it's too "weird" for specific demographics.

You same people will then go around and claim people like Giselle are "top rappers" of their generation smh. Meanwhile, Aespa lyrics are corny and kids-bop-y.
The point of that other post that you seem to miss or ignore on purpose, is that your song doesn't have to have great lyrics to become a smash hit, and that you can dislike a song's lyrics or find them nonsensical while that song will still become a megahit.
Practically nobody understood or cared about the lyrics of Gangnam Style, yet that song was a banger that became the world's #1 super hit. And this is just 1 out of hundreds, thousands, songs where lyrics didn't contribute at all to a song becoming a hit song.
So yes, Aespa lyrics can be nonsensical to you, and still the song or sortlike songs with weird lyrics can still become huge hits, because other people don't harbour some hatred towards a group nor care that much about lyrics as they care about how likeable or catchy they find a song.

Why can't we appreciate all these songs and artists as they are?
Many K-pop fans speak about the West as if westerners only love super meaningful and lyrical music. Nope, there's a place for a bit of everything. Whether it's EDM, hip hop, pop, rock, or country, there are western songs that aren't the most meaningful or lyrical, but they're still hits because the artist is skilled in flow and delivery, the lyrics are catchy, and the beat is memorable.
Also, we don't need to pitch western artists and K-pop idols against each other. It's incomparable. Looking at each art form requires different perspectives. Not everything has to be a competition. We could still appreciate K-pop rap for what it is without looking down on it. At the end of the day, this is entertainment. It's really not that serious.

It's all about preference, something that i see a lot people don't understand. The interesting thing is that i see so many people describe aespa's concept as if it's the end of their career. Not liking it is fine, i'm sure there are mys that don't like it and ignore the concept just like there are mys who genuinely have fun with the concept. But to complain about how cringe, weird, or whatever their concept is over and over again and talk about it in despising and mocking manner is ..... idk i would advise them to lessen their obsession and touch some grass.

that's okay, everyone vibes with different stuff, but its also would be a closed mindset to assume it wouldn't work in any case. the smcu actually has a lot of potential in the west in general if they collaborate with the right people. the west would eat that shit up.
