So although I thought it was too bad Shuhua lost her pal in the group, I was generally content.

The fact is that men aren't angels, whether they are French or Algerian. French can be very racist and take advantage of minorities, Algerians can be quite oppressive to women and homophobic. The bad apples are always the loudest, while people who are fair, progressive and hard working rarely make noise because they are too busy building a decent life for themselves and their community. Rather than blaming ENTIRE groups, the individuals involved in causing the injustices should be called out. That includes the judges, lawyers, corporations, officials, mob bosses, police, drug dealers, and businesses who profit from a system that keeps people divided and easily conquered. If people keep trying to antagonize each other nothing will change.

Tzuyu level impact is the type of thing that happens to one or two idols a generation.
It's unrealistic that every very pretty idol will reach those heights.
I don't think it says anything about her beauty or memorability.
She's a very charming and pretty idol.
But it just wasn't in the cards for her this gen..
That attention went to Wonyoung.
What they should pay attention to is her singing visual combo.
Sullyoon is rather rare in that is a Top "visual" level idol who can legitimately sing amazingly well.
If she had more fans they would brag about her vocals a lot more. But she doesn’t so it’s just mentioned in passing. If Karina has Sullyoon’s level vocal that would be repeated often

Compared to Tzuyu in her heyday, Sullyoon isn’t amassing the same level of international and Korean fanbase. Almost after debut Tzuyu’s face was everywhere. And in the 4th gen, compared to Karina and Wonyoung, Sullyoon also lags behind in following.
People see nice pics of Sullyoon and praise her. But then don’t really become her stan.
Why is Sullyoon failing to capture that many fans despite being a visual of a Big company group? Are NMIXX songs to blame? Is her visual the type that doesn’t captivate long term? Chinese female visual celebrities are kind of like unless they have something else going for them.

I know for sure if you ask people irl who are not into the kpop loop, no one would guess karina or wonyoung or kazuha or jennie( no hate to them they are pretty obviously ) are more popular visually than miyeon or sana or heejin
Hell i can even name some real nugus ( pixy dia and wjsn eunseo for example) who'd get a LOT more attention irl than some of the 'top visuals'
That's when big company factor comes into play

Lmao what? Poorer companies cant afford to drop 6 mil on tiktok promo. If we are using BTS as an example, they were nearly bankrupt a year in and that was after money saving moves (low budget MVs, staff as actors, previosuly owned props, fake clothing, etc). Privilege includes influence, money, and connections, not just a fandom that may or may not vibe with an established group's juniors. This group in question had ties to Warner Korea at debut, not sure how you think they started from the bottom just bc they are a new group that doesn't have an established fandom yet (which is almost all groups at the start).
"Hitman" Bang PD has been a successful and renown producer for years and his family is well connected. He fucked up in the early years of BH because he never actually ran a company before, but that doesn't means it's a literal rags to riches story. More like upper middle-class to riches.
