There's a reason why SK has super high suicide rate. Who thought some high profile idol who is potrayed as calm and soft could humiliate their stylist in front of public for example? Or did bullying in the past. Or bullied their group mates. It's just human

Could have something to do with Hybe wanting to grab Izone members for Source Music, Chaewon, Sakura and Minju.The timing was very coincidental. Disbandment happened in May of 2021 after Izone disbanded, then we start hearing members of Izone being courted by Hybe in the summer.

Izone almost reached 500k copies sold at their peak, while mamamoo best selling album is at 180k copies sold. The fanbase size is clearly different. And wheein left rbw + she's not promoting much on TV shows, that's why I find her charting impressive, I'm not downplaying her popularity.
In comparison yena is everywhere + she was one of the izone members with most gigs during the group activity. Afaik Sakura fans even trended hashtags about her "mistreatment" and lack of promos. And not being the most popular doesn't mean the izone fanbase isn't still supporting her.
I don't want to downplay her achievements but you gave a wrong impression talking about "outselling mamamoo and SNSD members" when the cases aren't comparable at all. even then, moonbyul and wheein have recent releases that sold around the same number as yena's album so I don't see whats the big difference.
Sejeong got all-kills,hit melon roof and multiple achievements with her 1st solo song. And we all know what happened later so it's to soon to say yena has already surpassed her or other soloists.
And tbh I don't know who expected it but I never saw luna or amber as possible popular soloists, it was obvious during their time as group members they didn't had the hype or fanbase to back them. Tiffany or Seohyun could be better examples but I guess Taeyeon was the chosen one
That's totally comparable as mamamoo members and snsd members already have established popularity while yena basically still building, if anything, it is actually not fair comparing yena to them, not the other way around. And yena didn't outsell everyone, she didn't outsell teyon for example. See, I simply talk about data. l mean, let's not base judgment on some fans trending something on twitter cause they feel their bias don't get enough attention as if sakura or wonyoung haven't got all the spotlight already.
There you go exactly prove my point, sejeong solo shot to the top fast because she was one of main spotlight along with somi, but did her song stay for almost 50 days in let's say top 10? Yena on the other hand didn't even have great debut on chart because why? Because she isn't wonyoung or sejeong with all the hype around them. The way smiley charting actually climbed, reminding me of twice's ooh ahh which started at the bottom of melon's floor and ended up outcharting other big gg songs. We call it organic charting these days :D
But ofc I agree we still need to see how it is as I also said above she can thrive IF yuehua does everything right after a good start. The next comeback would be the deciding one of how it will be for yena. Same thing can actually be said for winto actually, cause she hasn't even debuted solo yet xD so you need to wait more than me as winto hasn't even passed the first phase yet. Umm sis. People be saying Luna and amber as the most talented members and would be one of most successful soloists from SM when they were about to debut (actually similar hype as hyolyn when she was about to go solo, since people thought sistar's popularity was heavily about her , you know, sistar was once called hyolyn and friends), but then reality hit.

you said she's selling better digitally than mamamoo members so I just verified that. Almost all of them have released solos that reach top 10 on melon so while yena is impressive, this is nothing mamamoo haven't done before. Even now wheein is pulling close numbers.
And you can't compare the physical sales because before being a yuehua solo artist, she's izone ex member and they had a big fanbase only comparable to twice back then, shown in the way Jo Yuri sold even more than her and Kwon Eunbi pull similar numbers last time I checked.
her izone days have built a lot of her actual success, I think she was the most promoted member back then and is also everywhere now. Ofc none of the other solos charted as high as smiley so she does have something special but once again, the izone fame does help especially with the physicals.
Anyways this thread was about Winter and what she has is something I haven't seen in kpop since Sejeong had a promising solo debut but failed the expectations. Yena, like other solos, is doing great and can do even better later, but I don't get the same "ultimate top soloist" vibes from her.

Yena is not, never, the most promoted izone member or the most popular one, not even close when there are wonyoung, sakura, etc. And actually your post kinda downplay mamamoo as if mamamoo is small in front of izone (about the selling power). If you realize that. And I never said her as top ultimate soloist, I said she can be one of most successful soloists if yuehua does things right (kindly backtrack my posts) because she surprisingly had amazing start which strong on both physical and digital sales even if she isnt wonyoung or sakura. Its hard you know cause even sejeong with all the hype, failed. That alone showed she has something that draws people to her even with limited resources behind her.
And yeah, I have shown my opinion about winter who is said can be top soloist or something. I guess just let time prove how it will be for her. In the end everything will flow nauturally anyway, cant be forced. If winter really has what it takes, she will thrive, if she doesn't, then it is how it is. I have seen so much hype for sm idols who went solo like amber, luna, for example and none really meet the expectation

There are idols who have weakest vocals for example, and always put in the middle and got all the spotlight and marketed/ pushed as "the prettiest" when beauty is deadass subjective for each person. That's more not fair for me.

At the same time the same friend say Itzy Chaeryeong stage present is so good where I say I don't see it.
Well no, whoever says seulgi doesnt have stage presence is either hating or being salty (even tho they try to sugar coat it with "I am a reveluv, BUT (the proceed to shade)". So it is still not about preference.
