No it's not a matter of preference.

Stage presence is that special aura around you.

For example, I don't stan both taeyon or iu but I cannot deny their stage presence when they are on stage are really strong (since they are mentioned by OP and comapre them to winter).

About yena, I actually just found out about her some two weeks ago or something, was skeptical but when I checked her, I understand why she outsold snsd member solo album sales (minus taeyon) or even mamamoo members with her debut mini album even tho she wasnt even most popular izone member nor the center (or whatever who get priviledge always put at the middle on group pictures)

Winter can work on her stage presence overtime.

Cube should have handled it the way SM handled irene's controversy.

You see,, Part of why people stanning some idols is their personality. There are tons of pretty, talented, whatever else, idols, but they just don't have that stans attractor factor.

Take example Yena, she isn't the prettiest izone nor the most popular member but I see her becoming one of most successful soloist (IF Yuehua do things right). She already sold over 83k physical albums on hanteo alone for her debut. That's already higher than majority of SNSD members solo albums sales or even some mamamoo members sales (I might be wrong, I need to check again lol). Why? Well, just follow Yena solo activities and you will understand.

They got their pysical sales. Many (I mean it by many) korean singers/ idols wish to have seventeen physical album sales. And they don't have SM/ JYP/ HYBE/ YG kind of resources to back them up. It's fine.

How the end result of this show is def gonna diver from one idol/ singer with another (same case for every survival show. Who thought Yena gonna be more succesul soloist than sakura for example? Or Chungha than Sejeong? See my point?). But the essence of this program is to boost those idols who aren't that successful (that's why back then there was an uproar of why g idle, and even mamamoo were included cause they pretty much have quite thriving careers). Bom ad her company had the same spirit when joining queendom season 1, but for some reason they couldnt use it t propell Bom's solo. Meanwhile we saw a great growth for oh my girl for example.

Here we go with "Hyolyn is above everyone else" bullshit when she is the one needed this show the most to boost up her ultra flop solo career. She legit once sold 4 pieces of her physical album (total around 500 pieces) a day. Did you buy her music when spitting those hyolyn is above anyone else bullshit?

MSG wannabe says hi (for example), some of them is even a comedian and surely never considered as a singer and they beat SM girls on charts sometimes (they might even take down Taeyon's invu on charts soon), that's what you call the real public recognition and not just fans statement. In the past I was also kinda fell to the media play of how yoona "popular among public" but after she went solo, released some singles and even mini album and all flopped, its becomes clear.

If I am correct, the only songs she got allkill were dream (u must count baekhyun's presence too, he has tons of avid fans) and pretend (pretend dropped fast on charts). After that? She just released a song some days ago and it's nowhere to be seen on melon top 100 for example. But to be fair with you, if we compare these two (since these two are the ones mentioned on this thread), suzy is indeed more wellknown public than yoona I can give you that (I take this conclusion based on performance on both fields acting and solo singing), social media engagement like instagram etc. But still, I don't think her public recognition is as big as how her fans made it to be. Again, to give an easy example, if you are that wellknown public, your songs will simply chart high, no matter even if you are a dang comedian like MSG wannabe (they are currently ranked high on charts and probably would take over Taeyon soon)

Love to see the excuses from both fans.

They arent that popular amongst public. Its all media play. That's all. If you really are popular amongst public, you will chart high. Dont put bullshit like public dont consider them as singers shit, cause comedians like yoo jaesuk and friends arent singer and can chart high when releasing songs
