Can anyone fill me in with a summary of Amber x Johnny Depp case? Why everyone is sure Amber was lying?

Especially last question. I mean I tried reading explanations but they’re usually long and mostly “he say she say” kind of evidence so I never got to the evidence that made everyone certain about Johnny being the victim. Can someone give a summary?

Obviously as you can see I know too little about the case even clueless about the info on the internet so don’t take what I say as my entire opinion.

Just one thing that was bothering when I get those court videos on the internet is how weird it is. All comments nitpicks on every expression and move Amber makes and take it as an evidence to how she is a liar. While in the same court videos everything Johnny does is glorified. I mean I have seen different videos of him playing with people in his side in the court trending and everyone swallows it up as the most geniune thing on earth but then Amber holds a tissue to her nose for awhile and it is taken as a show for cameras.

Now don’t attack me because I can tell everybody believes Johnny’s side and I am not discrediting that but just someone who knows little to nothing about the case, and just confused as hell.

A few years back, audio released of a conversation where Amber was verbally abusing Johnny, manipulating him and admitting to being physically abusive as well. It of course went viral and people turned on her immediately.

I admit I don't know all the details of the case but what I'm getting is that both were very toxic and abusive towards each other, but there is a lot of sexism and internalized misogyny that's causing ridicule and complete invalidation to all her claims, plus she's just not that big as Johnny is. There are texts of Johnny saying he'd rape her dead body ffs and she does so genuine distress in court.

Its become He Said, She said and I personally have no interest in seeing either of them or their work ever again

All I remember about the case is

Amber Heards lawyer is dumb
Amber Heard apparently took a poop on Johnny's bed
Johnny Depp was constantly interruped when talking
Amber's Lawyer tried to make Johnny looking like a idiot by asking stupid stuff wich was often quoted from stupid sources like example magazines full of bullshit from some paparazi

The only chance of her being the victim is if she is legit stupid and she hired stupid representation too

Every claim she has made has been debunked so many times by third party.

If she was abused, she did not keep a good record of them bc the instances she is mentioning are all countered.

I dont think it takes the chance of her being the victim to null, but cant she atleast recollect one instance were it would be backed by a witness or some other evidence?

I dunno, that's royally messed up if he's intimidating them too. At some points you gotta wonder if he had all this power to intimidate all these people into saying she's exaggerating it, why he would even sit in court and let her say those things about him? Honestly, Johnny never claimed he was perfect in the relationship - he never even said he was the victim. She is the one that painted the story that she was the victim and he was the abuser. It's very likely that neither are lily white, but he's not claiming that - she is. And he's suing her for painting him that way - it's a defamation case.

And don't get me started on her lawyers. She fired her PR team midway through the trial because her public image was suffering, but her lawyers aren't doing her any favors either. She hired some very aggro and disrespectful lawyers.

That's not what yall fcking said 5 years ago when whole world believed Johnny was abusive and Amber the victim.

I couldn't help but start to doubt her story, when I heard audio recordings where she says stuff like"i didn't punch you, I was hitting you", or telling him to go ahead and tell people he's being abused because nobody would believe that he, a guy, is being abused by a tiny female anyway.

She said on audio that Johnny should go outside and tell the world that he Johnny Depp “a man” was a victim of domestic abuse and that it was a fair fight and see who people would side with.

In another audio she called him a coward and questioned his masculinity for always leaving the scene in heated arguments, hiding in the bathroom instead of facing the confrontation.

She emotionally blackmailed Johnny to commit suicide if he leaves her.

Why shouldn’t they think she lied?

I think what we are seeing here is cognitive dissonance, the fact that many can’t believe that a women can also be abusive towards a man and therefore the man must have been at fault here somehow or it was both fault etc…Yes it doesn’t happen as often as men abusing women (physically)… but it happens and mental abuse far more often than we think. Acknowledging that isn’t taking away the reality that women suffer from abuse more often than men.

And I think many of those who want to cling on the fact that she is the main victim just do so cause they are afraid that if Johnny wins, it would make it harder for people to believe women who came forward to report domestic abuse. They were fighting for women to be believed and now this happens and its such a huge case, it doesn’t fit their narrative at all…. But the only one to blame here is Amber Heard.

Yep. I had the same reaction when I first heard it then looked into it thinking it could not be real... yea, I was wrong. I am glad though to know her own parents don't think she should get away with it just because she's their daughter.

There's just so much wrong with how she's been framing it - as SandyBee3 said - she has challenged the long held belief that it cannot be the woman who is the aggressor. Now that she is being exposed for very likely lying about this and how she planned to use society's confirmation bias against him (making a mockery of actual domestic abuse that is very much real), the narrative is now "oh it was mutual abuse". Johnny ain't perfect, but it's pretty clear from most of these recordings that she was very much the aggressor.

Women are still far more often the victim than men, but society needs to stop believing a woman can't abuse a man. They can and have. I'm pretty sure many cases of this go unreported because just as Amber Heard threatened Depp - no one will believe a grown man was abused by a woman and worse - taunts him that they will think less of him for it. Sadly, she's right. Everyone assumed she was the victim and he was the aggressor at first, exactly as she threatened. In fact, we believed it for YEARS.

Anyway, the truth is, he might still lose the case since it's very hard to win defamation cases like this. He's going to have to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that it caused him to be booted from a number of big contracts including Pirates of the Caribbean. But he fought tooth and nail to have this court case open to public viewing while she was vehemently against it - and I think we can see why now. The truth will out, win or lose.

If so, it’s not exactly what most people said. Ie it’s not even clear that she meant people won’t believe him because he is a man. The way she said it was not only ambiguous but also could be a filler word for all we know. I had a hard time listening to the recordings because it’s not clear and people aren’t really sharing the exact wording but their interpretations of it.

Again I am not defending AH. and I am still clueless but this screams red flag to me because there’s a big possibility it’s the work of a good lawyer and a brilliant pr team. Since the recordings were brought up from JD’s side, then doesn’t that mean he knew he was recorded and he calculated every word he said so why people take his words there as evidence? Amber also didn’t sound aggressive and abusive as people said either. I am really really confused. Nonetheless I still couldn’t hear everything well so I might’ve missed a lot but the recordings are nothing like I imagined when I read people’s explanations of the evidence. The one thing I am sure of is that their relationship was messy as hell. From everything I saw so far, it could have been an equal toxicity or an abuser and a victim relationship, and honestly (even though it’s broadcasted for this reason) I don’t dare to strongly defend one side when I am still not sure about either of it.
