The three letter issue with the entire exemption discussion

  • It's impossible to discuss the merit of this law when every side is making it only about BTS

This… a lot of their fans are making it all about them too not just the others. I mean a whole new Bill will be introduced so of course it’s not just about them.

If people are opposing it : They just antis.

If people are for it: Its just fans.

Like a conversation just about the new Bill is nearly impossible.

  • Most of those who have been bringing these latest controversies to AKP are doing it to just to talk about BTS and not in a good way. It ain't the fans bringing it up constantly - all we do is defend.

Fans saying the bill is disrespectful and any other group is unworthy isn't helping the discussion either

  • Good for you!

    What's the chance it's a bot?

We are responding plain and simple.

While I don't agree with denigrating any other groups here either, if you are talking about the article on the guy who angrily called about SKZ, once again, we did not bring that up.

If you are referring to the the whole 2018 discussion summarized above, asking those companies to use their own idols instead of BTS isn't unreasonable.

  • What's the chance it's a bot?

Yea, but nothing against the rules just yet. I'll be watching

I'm talking about fans complaining that the proposed criteria isn't selective enough and that it has to be something so exclusive that only BTS could ever have it. These people are also making this bill to be about BTS only. I would understand if their worry was that the bill would not pass in its current format, but they're opposing it solely for the fact that someone else could benefit from it. I actually think BTS deserves an exemption, but the entitled behaviour makes me unsympathetic.

I think you must be confused...

ARMY is opposing this? Where? The only thing I've seen AKP ARMY oppose is this topic being brought here because every time it is some assh*le says they need to just man up as if they are the ones that started this whole mess in the first place. Let me refer you to my OP that shows it was brought up by several companies not named Hybe/BH.

To clarify, we are not opposed to whatever they have in the amendment now - that's knetz who say it isn't selective enough. You are confusing us with that angry knetz who called to rant about how he thought these changes would lead to SKZ getting it. That caller wasn't an ARMY nor did we post that article to AKP. Read it here: [theqoo] Aftermath of the call at Sung Il Jong's office following BTS' exemption

If you are referring to us venting that the Order of Cultural Merit can no longer be used, that went like this:

    KPOP Companies:

:cheer-bunny: KPOP Idols deserve to be considered for exception, look at all BTS has done! They have done X, Y and Z!

    Public:

:mads: Why is BTS asking for this?!!!! Drag them!

    Government:

:okayc: Since you asked, we'll give an exception based of X, Y, Z, so congrats BTS!

    KPOP Companies:

Wait, -- :wilds: -- That's not what we meant!! That's too hard for anyone not BTS to achieve! That's unfair! WE'LL SUE YOU!

So the government is not using the Order of Cultural Merit anymore due to the backlash and proposed other non-Korean awards since the Order of Cultural Merit is "unfair". And of course now we hear responses how can they base it on non Korean awards and also how soooo many did it before BTS and again start dragging BTS through the mud...

    Really? REALLY?

BTS can't catch a fucking break.

  • I just hope they decide soon so that the same akp non-army users and twitter antis will stop pretending and obsessing they know all about what army wants.

What makes ARMY unsympathetic towards all other kpop groups is that most kpop companies, including the big 3 used BTS' image and their achievements to start and further the conversations. Resulting in BTS getting all the negativity on every end for years now.

So excuse me if we just parrot the companies who themselves showed that only BTS is worth exemting by making it all about them. The companies then crying about too high criterias... why not highlight your acts then. And kpop fans of those groups and companies... why expect ARMY to just go along with it all smiles?

"Overspending on my pens, that are more in number... than your fans" - Suga.

  • For years most ARMYs, especially on akp and even twitter ones remained silent about all the talks regarding enlistment... because as non Koreans it wasn't our place.

But if the kmedia, k companies, k fans and knetz are starting a smear campaign against BTS... then after trying to ignore the negativity of past years don't expect ARMYs to remain silent and sing kumbaya. That's just idiotic.

No ARMY started the enlistment discussion here recently, till it was constantly brought up by literal obsessed little negative nancies.

I haven't really heard fans complaining about the proposed criteria EXCEPT in response to knetz crying about it being too broad and not even a Korean award, because goddamn, we are not the ones that decided the Order of Cultural Merit was too high a standard. That was the KOMCA on behalf of like 26 kpop companies.

But are knetz screaming for the KOMCA adn those KPOP companies heads then? NO. Who gets dragged throughout this mess started by KPOP companies, which then incited knetz?

    BTS!!!!

Honestly, trying to blame ARMY for this is low omnimorphism .

  • I have no idea how kpop fans here and everywhere can even open their mouths to spew bs about how their faves went to military when they even had to drag themselves or how BTS is not man enough.

The comapnies of same idols are frothing at mouth for a chance of their idols not enlisting. If they had the way your faves would not even go. They not macho man for going they just have no other option. It was not a choice, karen... they were forced to go like every one else.

And baby, if your faves went even after having genuine reasons not to go, just for the fear of public backlash... that's a failure of a system and society. They a victim, not martyrs and heroes.

You trying so hard to be pro-military of a foreign nation just makes you look like fools. No one in Korea would want to go if they had the choice. Why? Because those men are treated like shit in military!

"Overspending on my pens, that are more in number... than your fans" - Suga.

  • And like them, most of the knetz protesting this are males of military age whose argument is: "Well if I have/had to go, you should too!" It ain't because they WANT to go. Taking away conscription shows us how many men would actually voluntarily go. It is very much about BTS IS NOT SPECIAL ENOUGH AND HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING GREAT ENOUGH TO PLACATE ME!!! LET ME YELL SOME MORE ABOUT HOW UNFAIR IT IS TO ME AND TRASH BTS CAUSE THEY ARE THE CONVENIENT FACE AND I NEED SOMEONE TO BE MAD AT!!!!!!!!!
