I used to go almost everywhere in flip-flops during the summer,though these past few years I've switched them out for actual slippers that don't have the strap thing since I found that those became quite a nuisance.

I wear flip-flops everywhere but the office.

And even then, I wear them on my way to work, quickly change into my office pumps in the parking lot (I don't drive), and put my flip-flops back on the moment I leave in the evening. I'll admit that flip-flops with business attire look a bit strange but i honestly don't care. It's such a relief after a ten hour work day.

Yes, I even went to uni with flip flops sometimes

there are some parts of my country that gets very hot in summer and we use fresh outfits. So, right no is not a trend, but a few years ago people would wear flip flops (rubber ones) even for work. We do use sandals that looks like flip flops with other materials all the time
