I was impressed at their debut album selling 40k on oricon without an oficial debut on Japan. Can't believe AVEX will mess up one more career with potential

Avex sucks . They have great artist but terrible promo. Maybe they could get it right this time

Smq always sign with a vex tho (even tho they in some crisis or smth)

They can still sell well but idt their promo will be good (sm groups promo in Japan in general is very ehh)

What promo do people think groups do in Japan anyway?

It honestly surprises me the return groups get from Japan considering how much is put into it. Some B-sides on Korean releases get more promo than some Japanese releases.

The success mainly comes from a crossover from other releases.

It is also home to TVXQ and Boa, some of the most successful crossover artists from Korea into Japan ever.

Fans really overstate the importance of Japanese promotion anyhow. Most kpop groups biggest or breakout songs in Japan are not Japanese releases, they tend to be Korean or more recently English releases.

I get it promo helps for the exposure. But if a group is already popular in japan they will do just fine.

RV had never been big in japan so even if they were in another label they would still not hit big.

At least aespa has the potential...

Promotion doesn't make a material difference to a groups success in Japan.
