Loona's 10 billion won (about $8.5 mil) investment was mostly spent on two of the members, not including Chuu

  • Except the money was mostly spent on two of them and the rest were stiffed

and one of them is expected to pay for monies spent on someone else's behalf.

  • interesting but like others have said

    Sauce?

    Initial promotion

    Concentrated upon Heejin and Hyunjin.

They were the members the company put everything in, and when Chuu gained traction the owners were , I have to say, not too happy which is why they are ignoring Chuu's pleas.

Chuu was not their choice to become a big star but Heejin and Hyunjin went nowhere.

  • but where does it say they spent 10b won on loona/(mostly heejin and hyunjin)

It's not clear how they spent the money but that's the total amount their creditors were asking BBC to pay back. BBBC claims it all went to their predebut promo which was the most elaborate among all kpop groups.

It's kinda crap to deny the girls a pay check till the whole thing is paid

I remember reading about that...last year right?

well creditor as oppose to shareholder I would assume that to mean debt from bbc to such creditors and if bbc can't pay it back then technically they could be in breach of contract and (depending on bankruptcy laws in SK) could face bankruptcy...

true true and lots of companies even in the west fail to pay their employees or juggle around who to pay who and that's a red flag as to the company's solvency status - again this is probably also a breach of contract

  • Wow, that's quite the investment news about Loona – $8.5 million is no small figure! It's intriguing to hear that a significant portion was focused on a couple of the members, excluding Chuu.

    but the money wasn't true

Jadeon Jeong said that it was all media play and the 'real' money used to build and promote group was more around 2-3M USD

  • Nothing shocking

Hyunjin and heejin were the 2 first members introduce

Obviously they'll be getting the one with the MV with the biggest investment considering it was a small company they needed to catch the attention of the public with their concept and aesthetic

Once they did it you don't have to put as much money anymore

I'm sorry to tell you but therens nothing shocking pr bad here kpop groups are product and some of you need to understand this

Entertainement, makeup, etc... When a brand launch their first collection they always pour tons of money in their publicity and PR to get the attention of the media and the public because they are new

Once they catch this attention they still to publicity etc... But they don't pour as much as money than they did at first because they already have a public now ready to buy their products

  • In SNSD, it began to go wrong when Tiffany, a less promoted member, became the #1 most popular member of the group, while Jessica, who was to be promoted among with Taeyeon, began to fall behind.

BBC put all hopes on Heejin and Hyunjin, and since they were the most promoted, if they became popular it would have recouped its investment. So Chuu becoming popular was not in the books since Chuu was not that promoted and was not in the general plan.

It was Chuu Can do It which changed Chuu's fate since its staff was only loyal to Chuu and didn't care about what BBC thought

People like Chuu becoming big, when nothing was invested on them, creates a big problem for companies since it messes up all of their plans.
