Can you really stan two rival competing groups equally at the same time?
-
-
Well, I did in 2016 and I'm still stanning the groups.
-
Yes, not everyone is obsessed with charts yk.
-
-
Personally I can't. I have even caught myself refraining from stanning someone in the past just bcs they were competing with my faves and I felt off about it. Idk, I suppose it's weird? But I can't help it. I can actually stan a competing boy group and competing girl group but I can't stan a competing boy group and competing boy group..
I believe that people, mainly multis, will have no problem stanning two competing groups and they'd even find it a win win situation.

I care about the music itself not the awards

It's not only charts. It can go way beyond that.
-
-
Overall yeah, its p easy for me to just enjoy my groups quietly
But if i see a fanwar between their fandoms i always take a side if the other side is in the wrong, spreading misinformation and etc.
-

Sometimes you prefer A's music over B, and sometimes you find yourself watching more content from B than from A.
Nothing wrong with that.

I can do it coz I'm not a success stan

It's not even about charts, but what fandom interaction you'll have also affects your perception about groups. The experience you have with fandoms carries a bit to the group too. Ofc some people will be able to isolate them more than others but no one can really do it fully. It is sub conscious too. I'm only a BTS fan and sometimes the fandom has affected me that way so I can only imagine what it's like when people Stan rival groups
This shouldn't matter as long as you don't insult any groups though.

Because a sad majority of kpop fans are success stans who decide who and what they like based on how popular they are and their fave's achievements are the entire basis of their personality.
Those people can't be a fan of more than one group unless it's a specifically chosen group who will never be a "threat" to their faves.

i think being away from twitter reduces this feeling of resentment
like people on insta are pretty chill and they pretty much just post the ss from twitter viral tweets and youtube comments are always nice unless u are reading comments under the kpop unpopular opinions videos

Yeah I am not sure why some are only making it about charts. Things can get very nasty between fandoms. Especially rival fandoms. And ones bias comes out. I have seen some multis but it's obvious they are more biased towards one group over the others

People get nasty about everything. They don't even need charts or success. Just talk about visuals, vocals, stage presence..... anything they can use to feel superior.
-
It's not only charts. It can go way beyond that.
Ofc, but most fanwars revolve around who's the bigger group, who has the better charting and all that.
I don't think picking a side makes you a bad fan either, it all depends on the circumstances esp. when it comes to fanwars. If you stan two 'competing' ggs and think gg A has better vocals for example, it doesn't mean you like them better than gg B or that you're throwing them under the bus, it just means you have an opinion and personal preferences.

That's just sad..
tbh I stan more than 1 group but my standards make it so that these groups are never debuting together... so they're never put against each other

you are an exol?

Yeah I like all GGs. And I think it’s very common for GG Stan’s to like multiple groups.
The being loyal thing seems to be a BG stan thing more in my observation.
