isn't that like most of the grps lol

every group has the potential to be top I guess...which is why so many groups debut each year
one never knows how the GP or fans would react to a group...
a group can gain fans and go viral much much later (eg. Girl's Day/Brave Girls)
but sometimes skill and hard work just doesn't cut it...
sometimes it's luck and happening to be there at the right time at the right place...

Well, at least for me it is a groups with a good starter and being anticipated by everyone but suddenly fall just like that. Not most groups having good momentum in their early days, most of them didn't doing well from the start. Like boyfriend chart really well in Korea and Japan before and used to be one of the popular group and now they're just some nugu group. Ikon is one of the example from big company, they can be easily in top 3 for the third gen after love scenario especially.

I remember one of the former Chocolat members did an interview, and she had commented (paraphrasing here) that (1) she felt like the idols themselves are often given exorbitant amounts of credit; there's a whole machine picking out clothes, dances, stages, etc. to make any given song a success, and (2) so much success is dependent on the company; if the company doesn't get you opportunities, then that's it.
And I think we've seen that from small to big companies, like 2NE1's Minzy doing jack-all for her last three years on her contract despite being from YG to Brave Girls, who imo, should never have struggled for as long as they did when their music is good and always has been, but Brave Bros didn't put in half the effort to get them out there the way, say, FNC did with AOA who also used a lot of Brave music.

true true
and really that's just life...
sometimes it works out others it doesn't - for BG all it was was one viral video...I mean one can't replicate that for another (nugu) group even if they tried...

B.A.P is the first coming to my mind.
This was my first thought too.
