From what I heard from fans and insider information, they really weren't dating at the time but were just going out and despite it all, they apparently did start dating after that because fans saw them together a few times but kept it hush hush. My theory is that the whole thing was planned by IU with or without the concerned companies. I don't believe PR or mediaplay relationships rarely exist in KPOP because at the end of the day public dating news causes more harm to idols than anything else... I also think male idols would much rather go for non-idol girls (wouldn't be exposed by Dispatch), and when they do go for fellow idols, super popular male idols would rather date girls from lower tier groups (also unlikely to be exposed by Dispatch, and they are less likely to get rejected). But for couples that I think are legit - literally wtf does she or any of the women he's ever dated see in him at all, but Jennie and GD are definitely real or were real at some point. Mingyu and Chaeyeon (from DIA). I think the odds are good with any hosting couple, they have proximity to each other and relative privacy for a decent amount of time so if anything is going to happen there's space for it, but there were a few things between these two that screamed couple, at least at that time.

In a country like Korea I think women would be harshly judged for being promiscuous and it's probably not worth the risk, but I expect a lot of male idols take full advantage of their opportunities.
If you mean some of them might be asexual and never want a relationship, in their career I think it's unlikely for 99%. It's unusual anyway, and probably even more so in a career for beautiful charming people who know how to flirt and make audiences scream at them. Not impossible, just unlikely.

I think the two groups are just familiar with each other because they kind of know each other since debut and have been promoting together many times, met on award shows yearly and they have seen each other grow up iver the years, so that probably created some sort of mutual respect and support that is understandable.
The most delulu ship that came out of it imo was vrene. I simply cannot imagine irene dating someone almost 5 years younger than her.. thats like shipping jihyo with huening kai..it's just so absurd and unlikely it legit suprised me how people were dead serious about vrene being real. "Age is just a number" but in that case just sooo delulu and wishful
That was blown way out of proportion. The dogs live with his parents at the hotel they run. One of the dogs was overdue to have his nails clipped, the horror. Also such a scandal that they were in an outside area during the day instead of being left inside instead all day, like most idol's pets are. If you care to look it up, they have a very fancy outdoor pad now with an air conditioned inner section, and reporters regularly stop by to check on the length of the dogs nails...

There are lots of stories from idols (especially older idols) about how they would sneak around and date without fans and sometimes even managers knowing. I would put money that almost all idols (that want to date) have dated or are dating currently.
"Scandals" only come when two idols are dating each other, the tabloids don't leak relationships if one of them is a non-celeb so that's why we don't often hear much about idols dating.
