Hybe expected to reduce its dependency on BTS from 85% to 60% as per securities reports

I think diversification is a good thing to reduce dependence from one revenue source

Probably preparing for the enlistments.

Meanwhile a certain company has shown no intention to reduce the dependence upon one certain singer.

Does this finally mean they will stop attaching their acts name next to BTS? (since this means less purposeful overlap) If I see less HYBE association, this is a win for me 2022 is already getting off to a good start.

But on a serious note, I hope they release more music this year and not participate in any HYBE family bs. I do think this is funny to mention because if BTS actually gets to tour, that will defeat their purpose.

BTS World Tour This Summer!!!!

Once touring starts, svt should have a decent bag for their touring (especially jpn) and enhypen and txt should have decent touring numbers. Even if all 3 of those acts only have 1/3 of the touring numbers of bts, it should work out. They also have Weverse and vlive so I think reducing to 60% is possible. It will also be good for bts, so they don't have so much pressure of having to literally carry the company on their shoulders.

Come on, in house labels dedicated to single acts aren't uncommon.

And Kakao M hardly is dependent on even song production, when it is a behemoth in many other ways.

I wonder if their other groups' online concerts were losses or turned a profit? I don't think anyone expected weverse con to be profitable. I don't have any info but I'm almost certain it wasn't profitable last year either. They should just make it free at this point.

Also, I wonder if there's any info about how much their yet to debut groups might contribute. Hybe continues to be slow af with the Jpn bg and at this point I'm just incredibly annoyed. If they're waiting for the pandemic to ease up more before airing whatever stupid show they insist on making to add additional members, that's a ridiculous strategy. If they'd debuted them sooner, they wouldn't need a show to build hype.

Sorry, that turned into a rant. Whatever Hybe is doing with their Japan label is making me beyond frustrated.

Again a New Year’s Eve Con is incredibly bad timing. There is so much other stuff going on. I had family and friends that were in town for the holidays like a lot of people.

How is this really plausible if they do get to tour? Will they not give us a tour like it was hinted at last year for March 2022?

Lol this ratio is only reducing because BTS didn’t release any albums last year. Expect the profits to increase and ratio to increase likewise when they release an album this year

Hybe TO decrease means in 2022 their income from bts will GO DOWN. Meanwhile bts will go on tour, have new games, toons etc. Thats not s decrease in dependency.

It’s not related to revenue in the past. Then it would have said: Hybe income decreased in 2021 bc of bts.

Decrease dependency in my understanding was to diversify other modes of income in order to not solely depend on BTS. I didn’t take it as decreasing BTS income, I’m sure it doesn’t mean that either.

I won't pretend to understand all the economics but I think this makes sense but how they exactly expect it to precisely fall from 80% to 65% I am not sure seems a bit too specific

They probably have some number data that we don’t. Like estimations and stuff based on past data.

if a concert with other artists in company except bts was a loss i don't think dependence on bts is decreased that much

as long as bts doesn't get sidelined as a way for hybe to reduce their dependency on them, I see no problem. It makes sense through a business standpoint. say if bts were to disband, hybe would not make nearly as much profit bc their main group is the most relevant and is leading the kpop scene rn.

It’s simple Math, if they are forecasting more income for SVT , EN and TxT through more album releases , offline concerts, merchs, endorsement deals even if BTS will earn more (1.5x) from their previous income, it’s possible.Normally, they will project conservatively unless the pandemic will still be very prevalent in 2022 that will hinder the offline concerts .
