It's sad the number of companies that have gone bankrupt and the number of soloists and groups that failed/disbanded because they couldn't support them, especially during the pandemic.

They would have to audition or be scouted all over again. But I don't actually know what happens to failed idols.

They may have to go back and continue school because most trainees' training schedule causes them to typically miss a lot of school time and many have to drop out early because of it. Meaning their place in the workforce becomes really narrow.

The sad truth is that many idols who aren't a part of the big 3 + HYBE get paid so little and they're not allowed to have side/part-time jobs. Neither are trainees. So if they aren't to make it and aren't able to continue school for whatever reason...well, there is only so much they can really do.

If you really think about it, idols don't get paid that much unless they're a part of certain groups. Most idols get their revenue from show wins, getting awarded, performances on channels like SBS and KBS, concerts, and fan meetings. I've been hearing that they get the least amount of money from album/merch sales and most of that goes to the company.

When you decide to become an idol, you're basically putting your future on the line because the actual percentage of people who actually make all the audition rounds, make it through training time without quitting or being eliminated, (doing survival shows just adds another and harder step) and actually getting to debut and have that group/solo career ACTUALLY make it and make you enough money to be able to survive out in the world is extremely, extremely narrow.

But a lot of companies go under because a lot of money has to be spent with a contracted group or idol. For music video sets, group/soloist teams, promotions, stages, outfits, paying for contractor's costs (like utility bills, food, etc., a place to live), to get the music copyrighted and essentially own the music that's being produced, every employee at a company, the idols' revenue, trainee costs, album production and distribution, the money that goes into the corporation, supplying for all their contractors, traveling, etc.

The girls are probably busy with their part time jobs right now.
