I want to comment that I’m impressed with Starship (being a non big 3 label) and having lots of great acts.. but I googled them and apparently it’s a subsidiary label under Kakao Entertainment (they own 70%). Now I have nothing to say but share my newfound wisdom here

3 eh i dont know them that well but none of them impressed me in dancing or singing. Most of their appeal is appearance and high production value

here's mine : WJSN has a god tier discography and the fact that ifans ignore them so hard shows that they only pretend to stan for music

I have meet a lot of people who never heard about Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and many more popular western act. So, I'm not surprised with this. Everyone just have their own interests.

1. the max number of members in a group should be 5 or 6, everything more than that is too much. i feel bad for idols training for years only to end up like backup dancers with 3 sec lines in each song

2. girl groups are the backbone of the industry, especially in this generation

3. there are people who don't know who blackpink and bts are and that's ok!

4. most of the male idols are dozens with generic looks, especially the 4th gen ones

5. idols are doing stupid things on purpose for the laughs so fans can baby them because how can none of them hold a cake properly???

6. jungkook pierced half of his face, wears 3847384 earrings on each side and had a whole tattoo sleeve with all kinds of edgy pictures and quotes only to continue being called "kookie " and "our baby" by 15 yo girls. i genuinely feel sorry for him

People in my work know BTS but that’s because there is two woman with the same name in that place, me and another girl and both of us like BTS. She is not a multi though and I think she talks about the group hell of a lot because I keep getting the “What did you bring for lunch ? Butter?” Comments. I just swear back but yeah. They know them alright.

But seriously only big4 groups should debut large groups unless you hit big like seventeen or nct. Having too many members is a wrong choice.

How many times the same people get 2 sec lines or screen times and are usually overlooked. Small groups tend to be more successful : BP, 2NE1, MMA, Aespa...

Mmm, you are right. I was thinking more how ifans (Mostly western) perceive this concept, i seen their takes are different in ggs, and there is where the misogyny plays a part. I guess the original idea was just shallow, i cant say was mysoginistic since i dont know the context of kpop in those days. So, my bad.
