Do you prefer if groups sing live???

If they skip steps to sing live because the choreo makes it impossible to not sound bad?

For example, Oh My Girl's performance yesterday, it was really obvious they are singing live

Because they skip steps you can see when it comes to their parts, they actually stopped dancing the original steps so that they can sing live

Hyojung skipping the extra dance parts so she could sing

For me I kinda prefer this and honestly don't mind if members skip steps, for them to be able to actually sing live. What about you?

Yes even though there is a loud backtrack but I can still hear them sing. Also can we talk about how lovely this performance is as well

Yup. I do. There is no need for me to check out kpop without the performance aspect of it. I can just listen to some music in a language I already know.

EXO’s performances were so extraordinary it made me check out music in a language I had no attachment or inclination towards.

Me too.

As I said in a thread before, I prefer my faves can no longer perform rather then they can no longer sing.

But a combination of both will always be great.

I like it when they sing live. Taking vocal breaks and lip syncing every now and then is fine as well.

Naah. I never cared about live vocals or shiz. I only look for performances. So if some of my faves aren't even doing tad-bit for their performances it gets boring for me to follow them.

Once i saw the title, i was literally going to put up OMG as an example of how to incorporate live vocals into a performance stage. But you beat me to it lol.

I think having choreo that allows for each member to break from it to sing their lines is a good way to get more live singing. Also, having songs that dont include crazy upper register belting would also help - People might hate it, but i love the talk rap style of GG bops like MITM and Next Level, and these styles are a lot easier to perform live than a song like I Cant Stop Me or even Panorama.

The chorus for ICSM was crazy, and Panorama lets be real the song's key is way too high to really sing it properly even just by walking not to mention dancing

Well for MMM mic are on so i have no choice

For Itzy i don't care they did such good performance on stage always, but i always love the fact they goes to sing live with a back track often and are not scared to sing.

RV ... Trash company so i have no choice

Purple Kiss and (G)I-DLE, i prefer when they sing live, but i can understand why they sometimes prefer to not sing live.

Yup, I much prefer to be able to hear some real vocals (even if there is backtrack too) and if they have to tone down the choreo, that's fine for me. It doesn't even detract from the dancing in a big group like this. I wish everyone would do this.

I really like and prefer live vocals (still mostly in kpop or out of it, it's loud backtrack or lipsyncing - even though people don't see/hear it a lot of times).

But I don't mind if it's not, it also depends on a case.

I don't mind mistakes, imperfections etc., but people have such high expectations that they want idols to sing live but to also sound perfect, which is what makes broadcasting stations and companies to make them not sing live.
