Are you a true stan if you don't love all the members?

Sure you can be, there's no law saying you must like every member. I have had bias groups where I didn't like a particular member as much as the others due to their personality or what they posted on IG, but at the end of the day, it's about supporting the group as a whole and enjoying their music and that is what I've done until the day where I don't enjoy their material anymore.

I'm not sure, what I do know is that I find it kind of annoying when someone hypes up one or a couple of other members, and ignores the rest... like I'm not saying you need to love them all equally, but don't just ignore them like they don't exist c'mon.

But idk I guess you can still enjoy their content and music without stanning each member so like... it's whatever, but I might give a side-eye to someone doing that if they claimed to be a stan of the group.

Yeah you are. You’re a fan if you say you are.

You may not be welcome in some specific fandom spaces but that’s others prerogative as well. To decide if they want to associate with you or not.

But you just existing on public spaces like social media should never be an issue.

as long as you respect and don't hate on that member

it's okay to not love all of them equally bc it's your life and your decisions etc.- but when you start hating one member more than the rest openly, that's when it gets weird

it is up to you as long as u don't hate them and be neutral i guess

but i wonder that exists? i don't think i can stan group if i don't vibe with one member even though i have liked everything besides her/him i might be just casual listener of the group

well people can decide for themselves if they want to be considered a fan, but I would never stan a group if I don't like a member. There's so many groups, why stan that group when I can stan a group that only has members that I like? Like it's possible, but I personally can't do it

You can LOVE the groups music. And spend a lot of time talking about it and following your fav members.

The only criteria for being a stan or fan is your level of love for the music tbh. And it’s entirely possible to dislike some members as people but enjoy the group’s music.

With so many kpop groups that have problematic members or even people with attitude you don’t like… it’s not that far fetched.

Hmmm I don’t think I’d be such a huge fan of my favs if I didn’t love all the members and connect to them all but I suppose as long as you don’t hate that specific member and still love the music your a fan

I'd not consider myself a fan If I dislike a member, but If other people consider themselves while doing it, who am I to say the opposite? Lol

Everyone has their own standards about what being a fan of a group represents to them.

Sometimes it happens, people have different personalities and like different things in others, so it's understandable that you won't always love all the members.

But I'd say if you actively dislike or hate on any of them, then you can't be their stan. A stan for me is someone who supports the whole group. You don't have to love all the members, but respect them or be neutral.
