It was never Kpop and never will be. Though I love them for using many international artists not only from Korea but other countries as well, we get so much diversity from this.

If Korean singers are in it singing Korean lyrics, it's Kpop.

Lurker and K/DA fan here. No, they aren't a traditional kpop group. But I think it's fair to call them a VIRTUAL kpop group. The members in real life won't partake in any special events or whatever. But there's lore surrounding the group which has the characters, particularly Ahri, go through the whole idol bizz. Regarding the music, I guess it's technically more western but the inclusion of Soyeon, Miyeon and Twice are enough to label it as kpop for me.

I also believe that K/DA have grown to be something bigger than just a promotion for League- their latest comeback made that clear. K/DA grew to have a huge fanbase, and instead of just releasing another music video and dipping, they spanned their comeback over a few months. There was so much art, music, and videos released... Riot didn't have to go to this extent. It's being treated like a real life group and I think it's neat. Sorry for the rambling lol

I don't see them as a K-pop group, more like a collaboration project group, or a virtual group.

But yeah, to foreigners and regular American John Doe, everything sounding Korean is equaled to K-pop, so to outsiders who aren't K-pop fans, they'll probably be considered K-pop by default.

It's not a kpop group, it's just a promotional project from Riot for League of Legends. Some kpop idols just feature in it but it wouldn't make much sense if at all to call it a kpop group
