Why does Super Junior still have an active career despite the many controversies?
-

think the real question is: "why kpop companies give up on their female idols so easily?"
-
Well, in the case of Soojin, it's because Cube Entertainment sucks, and will not hesitate to throw you out when shit hits the fan.
Not that SM is perfect with controversies either but like Idk... I guess they have a bit more restraint I suppose.

Jimin left the industry. Soojin was kicked out of her group. Neither of those happened with Super Junior so I don't get the comparison.

Well Sungmin did get booted out by K ELFS just for being married which was just discrimination.

I mean none of the Super junior member bully someone so i don't understand the comparison to Jimin or Soojin

not really
Taeyong have been accuse of bullying and yes SM stand next to him until they can prove if it's true or false and when it was prove to be false it was a good thing
But in the case of Soojin, every agency would have drop her and make her quit
Soojin was finish at the moment this actress speak up against her
because in people mind if it's a commoner who speak up, they might say the truth or just wanting some attention or be hater and wanting to destroy the career of the idol they hate
but what a successfull actress have to win by speaking up about it ? nothing that's why her testimony is the thing who change everything in soojin case

Yeah I came here only to say it's because sm didn't drop their asses.

Yeah but there's no problems with Taeyong anymore? From what I heard, SM made an effort to prove his innocence, it just took a long process.
What I meant by nothing would happen to Soojin is that she wouldn't have been kicked out because SM never kicked out their idols. They probably wouldn't let the scandal escalate this far and wouldn't let Soojin do whatever she wants, maybe they would even admit her mistake in the first place and send her to reflect like Irene lol. The thing about Soojin's case is that she didn't admit her faults and kept on fighting with the victims. I don't think SM would let her have that freedom.

exactly.
plus im pretty sure the things sj did do, no one cared enough to "cancel" them back then. at least from what I've seen/heard.

Wut? Irene was given a chance to redeem herself.
This is why you have to look at more than just comparing the groups. SM also stood by Irene and she's still actively promoting. JYP is standing by both Hyunjin and Lia (to different degrees, but neither were booted from the group/company.)
Also it's worth noting that Jimin and FNC announced that she would leave AOA and the industry, but I can't find anything where her contract was terminated so it's possible they left the door open for her to either make her decision to return or to quietly allow her contract to finish.

It's not exactly an apples to apples comparison
Soojin was accused of bullying with pretty strong allegations. Jimin the same. Iirc none of Suju have been accused of bullying or doing things that directly affect others. Their main issues are the off hand comments or taking shit about idols/women which relatively aren't that serious.
Their biggest problem was probably kangin for drink driving and he left the group after his second DUI (which btw he got a lesser punishment than his first offence.....fishy). There was also Siwons violent dog which I think is still out there?
I don't their fans will care about some behaviour problems in the long run. I mean we saw Irene have a similar type scandal and she still has a lot of fans. Bullying isn't acceptable by anyone whether it's fans or more crucially public which means intervention is required in some form like kicking then out.
