I feel like survival shows give some people very undeserved popularity especially the ones that get popular off visual or personality with little to zero talent . If the groups debuted just like that without the survival show gimmicks some of the members won’t be that popular . But it has changed these days, there a lot of groups where the most popular in Korea is not the visual , also internationally. The 4th gen is proof about it

This rumour isn’t true, of course there were members I’m Sure jyp thought will debut but he didn’t already have a lineup in his head
