Never got the HYPE of survival shows.....

to be honest, im a huge Survivor / Amazing Race fan, and i got into Produce to scratch my "survival show" itch since those were on Hiatus from pandemic

Still better than being hidden in dungeon/basement of one or another agency for 6-7 years, and never debuting at all...
At least here they might fight for the spotlight and if they really have skills, they will defend themselves, at least do few stages in show, and then their career path will be much easier, many girls won't make it to final group, but they will still receive some offers either for acting in webdrama, modeling, doing some gigs here or there, and also many of them will debut in new groups just thanks to the 'fame' they will gather in survival show, and the fanbase they will build during in it.

I feel like survival shows give some people very undeserved popularity especially the ones that get popular off visual or personality with little to zero talent . If the groups debuted just like that without the survival show gimmicks some of the members won’t be that popular . It all lies with the PD and who they want to highlight, I’m pissed because some people don’t deserve the fame they are having , it was literally given to them on a platter of gold. The actual talented people now go to waste. That’s the reason why I don’t like survival shows people that need to debut don’t debut

pretty sure produce is the only one that does the disbandment after years thing.. survival shows is a bigger domain than just produce... from stray kids to twice to fromis9 to monstax, winner and ikon all are made through survival shows only..

Nah there are a lot more than just produce. 1the9 for example I would've 100% stanned if they had been permanent :sadface:

ye, learnt it the hard way when watching treasure box, and now i only watch survival shows after it ends and the group gained traction, especially after produce rigging and they rigged kaeun and chowon out of the debut team i was so
(had something worst to say but i won't, clue: starts with d)speechless bc they're honestly treating us viewers like complete fools (i 100% supported izone when they were still promoting btw no hate) -

Nah there are a lot more than just produce. 1the9 for example I would've 100% stanned if they had been permanent :sadface:
these ones would have disbanded anyways cause way too nugu even if they had longer contracts so yeah..

I've watched a few... I-Land, No.Mercy, Sixteen, Stray Kids... Some of them are pretty interesting.
I really liked Stray Kids because they weren't really in a competition with each other... just with JYP to see if they could debut. It really made you appreciate the work they put in even back when they were trainees.
I think No.Mercy is probably the best one I've seen though. I watched it four years after Monsta X debuted and part of me was still like "damn... are they gonna make it in the group tho???
"The fight is still one of my favorite moments. Hyungwon was iconic from the beginning.

I've watched a few... I-Land, No.Mercy, Sixteen, Stray Kids... Some of them are pretty interesting.
