Those who don't understand or care how the chart works

At least once YT takes over you will only have to worry about charts once a week

I don't get it. Do people choose their streaming service based on the charts they provide? Is this the kind of thing that make customers come and go?

I heard on here that a large portion of listeners on Melon just use the chart as a playlist and listen to those songs.

Yes I read the same thing too. It just sounds so weird to me! It's like an admission of having zero taste of their own so they need to rely on someone else to tell them what to listen to. Kinda crazy. Moreover, I doubt other services don't offer similar features. Making a playlist of the most popular stuff doesn't sound like rocket science.

If you're of the mindset that only the most popular songs are worth listening to, it tracks that you would also use the chart of most popular streaming service (which is still Melon).

I agree it's weird, but it's really no different from people who just listen to the radio and nothing else.

The real question is if it's TRUE. And if it is, is the reason that Melon is loosing listeners REALLY because the "integrity" of their chart is being assailed by k-poppies?

Melon probably has the answers and, uh, it's probably "yes" on both counts based on their actions.

Well, Today's Top Hits is the most followed playlist on Spotify and Global Top 50 is the second, so I guess it's kinda the same. I wonder what is the percentage of users that actually use it.

Melon made the latest hits chart because apparently people were complained that the main chart was too frozen and didn't have enough new songs. But apparently they didn't use it. I guess it's hard to change the habits of your userbase.

I'm guessing they got tired of seeing the same songs at the top despite the number of ULs is not that high.
