I stumbled across Call Me Baby MV and it was a upward spiral from there because the quality was so high.

I was into the kpop fandom when EXO's debut was announced.
I loved Tao's teaser. I thought it was a really cool way to showcase an atypical talent. (Atypical within kpop... companies don't train their idols in martial arts, lol.)
I stumbled upon their debut showcase date. I decided to tune in. I watched it and I became a fan instantly.

Sadly she doesn't follow them as much she used to
Since debut.
Wow. So you've been through 2014-15? That must be hard time

What a turn of events!!
A lot of fans joined from 2014 onwards

I'll never ever forget the day I woke up to the news of Kris leaving. It was heartbreaking. I always believed they'll remain OT12 for life. Then Luhan left and then Tao. It's been really really tough. I'm so glad EXO survived through it all.

Yeah. If I had time machine, I would want to see the state of fandom during those tough times. I am glad EXO survived it all
I discovered them in 2018 when they came out with Tempo, they were one of the first few groups to introduce me to kpop.
I got into exo and a few days after that tao left it was heart breaking
I was so attached to exo, even though I wasn't there with them since 2014
Woah.

Yeah....though 2014 was a crazy year to join Kpop in my experience lol.
LMAO it was funniest.

Yes.
I saw the MV for Love Shot like right after I first started listening to kpop, but didn't really like it. Then after I started branching out into other kpop groups, I decided to google a birthday list to see if anyone was close to my birthday. I found out that Baekhyun and I share a birthday and searched him on YouTube. I found UN Village and loved it so I started searching for EXO songs. I can't remember if it was Tempo or Call Me Baby that won me over.
The year: 2017.
I was listening to BTS on Spotify because I got into them in winter of that year, and I was curious about other K-pop groups during summer. One of the foremost recommendations was EXO, so I thought "Let me check out 'The War'", since it was their most recent comeback at the time.
I still love Going Crazy, What U Do, Forever, The Eve, Chill, Touch It, Walk on Memories, and Ko Ko Bop because that's what EXO was for me at the time. Still one of my favorite albums in K-pop.

The War is one of the best pop albums out there...
When SM first announced they were going to debut a boy group in both China and SK.
Wow.

Exactly, TPOM just made it even better.
In early 2015, I had moved to Korea in 2014 but it was after Overdose, so I didn't know about them really. But then in February 2015, everyone I knew was so excited about the upcoming Call Me Baby comeback and was nagging me to listen to it. So when it came out, I grudgingly decided to watch it and was shocked at how good it was and started following them but not at stan-level or whatever, I knew who they all were and whose voice was whose and the concept of EXO-K and EXO-M, but I didn't bother to listen to their older songs or anything.
I was only a little surprised when Tao left but not sad or anything I was just like "huh, does this happen often in Korean groups?" But when Love Me Right came out a few months later it was so amazing and blew me away. I just was like f it and became an EXO-L, and all that entails.

Wow. Amazing
It's like you listed the whole album there without mentioning Diamond, AKA the supreme most underrated song from The War
Anyways, back to the thread.
I got into K-pop in 2019 through BlackPink and I was checking an "idols reacting to BlackPink" video and EXO was there dancing to Boombayah. Then I heard about Kai being Jennie's ex-boyfriend so it made me want to check EXO out to see what is Kai all about.
Youtubers react in 2014 lol FF7254CF-955C-44D2-A952-009B2DC885E8.gif
They were reacting to overdose and I kinda fell in love with the song and listened to the mini album and it was really good and yeah I’ve liked them since then CA0605A5-1D7F-4831-A1BB-A9987B49F4B9.png
And they were my first kpop group so very sentimental for me
It must have been 2017. I saw a reaction video to Blackpink and BTS first and then saw some reactions to EXO. I can’t remember what exactly I saw - Call me Baby probably.
I actually had more EXO songs downloaded on my phone when I first started getting into KPop than I had BTS, for quite some time.
Anyway, I gave recently been reeeeeally enjoying working through more of their back catalogue, and don’t really know why it took me so long.
